Oh yeah I saw the GN video that compared the Quest 3 to the Frame, OS bugs on Quest aside (like not remembering my guardian settings), you'd think the stuff Meta does would be highly illegal 🙃 Tho yeah, Rift S to Q2 was a step up, so I'm excited to see how the Frame does, esp. with better res.!

It made me hesitant to upgrade to the Quest 2, but it was SUCH a better experience... until the recent OS updates. All this to say, I'm on the reserve list for the Frame (256GB!) and I'm painfully waiting for lord gaben to bless me with the purchase email already :P

Oh my gosh, my Rift S experience was so bad 😭 Either the tracking worked for 5 mins or 5 hours, no in-between lmaooo. I remember a firmware update they pushed that literally broke controller tracking, then dealing with support gaslighting me with troubleshooting, then it was finally reverted 😭

Aaaand I just got hit with Google Assistant being replaced by Google Gemini... genuinely disappointing. This fucking company still can't get Gemini to recognize smart home/device commands (turning a light on/off). You know, something that was working perfectly fine with Assistant. 🙃

I think it's on them for saying "Oh [x] JUST missed this build" which, to me, implies it'll make the next build in 3 months. I entirely get wanting stuff to be done properly, changing some plans, optimizing stuff (like reverb and helmet UVs), tho the way it's said definitely needs to change, imo.

2/3 We have massive data centers being built for something that's being shoved in everywhere that we don't want/need it to be. The corps don't care because "money-line go up" - so I think that's (at least one of a few reasons) why there's VERY strong opposition against it.

Yeahhh and BSky hasn't exactly been... stable... 100% of the time. We've done so much cool shit without AI, and now suddenly we need AI to... develop a toggle on a website, I guess? Eg. I don't NEED Gemini, as Assistant was actually programmed to understand commands (smart lights, music, etc.)

Entirely fair! Also re: Owncast, I looked into it a little more, and it seems like it's more Linux focused + needs at least some sort of payment for setup (eg. your own server/hosting provider/(maybe?) domain that you need to pay for). I'm hoping I'm wrong on that front! Just my experience.
