Any excitement I had for Eurovision 2026 has completely vaporised this morning. Those ‘changes’ - if you can even call them that - are an absolute disgrace. A total waste of time. As much I wanted juries back in the SFs, that was way down the list of the problems that needed solving. #Eurovision

Unacceptable. Absolutely no one should be celebrating this. This doesn’t even remotely touch the surface of the problems. Reducing to five votes wouldn’t have made any difference, let alone TEN. We’ll just be having the same conversation about the televote this time next year. #Eurovision

Very inconsiderate scheduling of national finals by broadcasters this year 😂 That’s three now on 28 February (excluding small matter of Melfest Heat 5) to add to the FIVE on 14 February, with nothing (so far) on the Saturdays immediately before those two dates. Space them out more! #Eurovision

I see one of my IG posts seems to have ‘upset’ some people today. I stand by it. I’m not suggesting 🇮🇱 & 🇺🇦 are ‘the same’ but the way they both benefit at ESC because of political/pity voting is the same. That’s just a fact and it’s unfair on the 35+ other artists who take part. #Eurovision

📞 Changing it to five votes per country wouldn’t make the slightest bit of difference. It should be ONE vote per country. That way, to receive a country’s 12 pts from the televote, you would require the most *people* to vote for you and not just the most votes. #Eurovision

Good news if confirmed. The EBU are clearly though handing out subsidised fees here, there and everywhere in order to keep two semi-finals for Vienna. Could probably just manage it with this plus Moldova and Bulgaria returning (big if still on those fronts) even with the boycott. #Eurovision

That’s desperately sad news about Patricia Routledge. Keeping Up Appearances first aired over ten years before I was born, yet it is honestly one of my favourite shows ever. Watched it back so many times. Just so, so funny. The best character in British TV history in my opinion. RIP Mrs Bucket.

Pitiful excuse. Israeli broadcaster KAN had two songs rejected by the EBU in 2024 for failing to comply with rules and regulations. It’s one thing to spew the nonsense that Israel should stay in Eurovision because Eurovision should be ‘non-political,’ but this is just a lie. #Eurovision

I’d also add to this that I’d imagine most 🇬🇧 people who don’t really care for or know much about Eurovision probably think it’s bizarre 🇮🇱 are in Eurovision anyway because of ‘geography’, regardless of the current situation. Interesting numbers, but wouldn’t take them too seriously. #Eurovision

Every chance I’m being majorly dense… but is it not 63 EBU Members voting - not 68? 63 = all Members *excluding* KAN 🇮🇱, BTRC 🇧🇾 and the three Russian 🇷🇺 Members. Think I’m right in saying the latter four make up the 68 despite suspension. ‘Magic number’ would be 32? #Eurovision

Been doing some digging. UEFA’s Executive Committee (apparently organising the vote) met just 11 days ago in Albania. The EC meets four times a year (presumably every three months ish) meaning the likelihood of a vote taking place tomorrow is near zero. #Eurovision www.uefa.com/news-media/n...

⚽️ 🇮🇱 Lots of talk on social media about a potential vote being held by UEFA this week regarding Israel’s membership. UEFA would never publicly confirm whether this is happening, but I’ve not seen any reputable football journalist confirm it is happening either. Happy to be proven wrong though.
