A fair assessment from VRT. Sure, not everything is perfect, but the EBU are doing something and taking "meaningful steps". You're more likely to get further reform from within than sitting on the sidelines while your voice becomes less and less relevant with every passing year. #Eurovision

Reports on X that one of RTVE's demands was that Martin Green get the sack, and be replaced by their very own Ana Maria Bordas (who is currently Chair of the Reference Group). If true, it seems rather presumptuous. Not to mention pointless.

He also acknowledged that new rules had been introduced as a result of negotiations with the EBU. There is the danger though that if their absence is prolonged, their leverage over ESC policy weakens. They currently chair the Reference Group, which it's inevitable they'll now lose. #Eurovision
