I edited this comic for poet Jehad Abu Dayya and artist Esraa Elbanna, currently displaced in Deir alBalah. They wrote and drew it together from their tents. It is a very intentional work with many layers to it, I hope you read it (1/5)

happy new year. 2024 was a wonderful year for me professionally, and an awful year spiritually. i am not the same person i was before i spent this year watching how a genocide is condoned and carried out. i have a great deal of clarity and anger. i will be carrying it with me into the new year

i keep forgetting to check this platform im sorry. i’d like my 2025 resolution to be not to use social media at all. but even though i no longer suffer from the delusion that maybe if we all keep posting the right way we won’t have to keep watching arab kids die, i still feel a need to do it.

I'm still not seeing posts in Arabic in Blue Sky. When I posted in Arabic the formatting seemed awkward (couldn't do right to left script). This excludes a great many people. What's being done about it?

i’ve only ever tabled at cairocomix where i print on mugs and stickers and postcards locally! but i’m not quite sure what I can (realistically) bring to MICE that visitors might enjoy. i’ll probably just do custom drawings for the duration

Panelists: Deena Mohamed, Rocky Cotard, Karl Krumpholz,

The setting of a comic is so profoundly essential to the story that it shapes the characters and the plot. When this setting is a city, its character can create a dynamic energy.

i’ve said this before but last october news came out that around 15 family trees had been totally wiped out in gaza and i tried to draw a comic about what that means. before i could finish it the number passed 100 and i no longer knew how to depict that kind of loss. now it is in the thousands.

procreate has good vibes and everything but as a comics artist its features are insufficient. i only use it for quick sketching or more painterly rendering. CSP is undefeated for comics.

Today, the ICC issued a warrant for the arrest of two Israeli leaders responsible for the war crimes in Gaza. The policies and military actions ordered by these criminals killed my father and little sister. (1/2)

beautiful day for the ICC to issue arrest warrants, and every day until the end of time will be a beautiful day to remember Joe Biden and Anthony Blinken should also be liable for aiding and abetting genocide

This memoir took my breath away. Javier’s words, colors, and inquiries sing to all the right notes, then some. I was in the trucks, on the shore, in the ocean, and tucked into Chino's jacket as the fish flew by. Thank God for the blessing of poets writing prose. #BookSky #Solito #Immigration
