I decided to check out Welcome Tour on the Nintendo Switch 2, and I couldn't find a player avatar that looks anything like me, so instead I went with this avatar that looks suspiciously like Velma from Scooby Doo 🤓

Alright, we can probably cool it on the blurry, light-soaked and saturation shifting 2D/3D RPGs now, right

As a massive RPG fan, from Trails to Persona to Final Fantasy, none of them would be possible without the progenitor to them all. The next couple of videos on this channel will be covering the origins of the Dragon Quest series, the genesis of an eventual revolution! youtu.be/xGfOoxnE4Tw?...

I work as both a sommelier and cheesemonger, and I can tell you, emphatically, that there's nothing like discovering new wines or cheeses recommended to you by someone who's passionate and excited for you to try them. It's one of the rare industries I'm cautiously optimistic AI won't ruin.

We have never 'owned' our games, our games just had no technological protection measures. (thread 👇, I'm so mad about the PS no physical decision and I need an IP rant)

After ragequitting the game years ago around Maniac Maze, I finally revisited my old save and powered through the remainder of Popful Mail! I had no idea the difficulty was ramped up so much for the localized release but I'm not surprised given the usual Working Designs treatment 😅

Seeing today's Nintendo Direct on Star Fox, I cannot help but think of @transparency.bsky.social 's excellent video, and Nintendo (and Star Fox fans) seeming obsession with retelling the events of Star Fox over (Star Fox 64) and over (Star Fox 64 3DS) and over (Star Fox Zero) and over (Star Fox NS2)

On a similar note, you don't have to 💯 every game. So many friends I know have a bldt playing a game until they hit lategame sidequests or trophies and it sucks all the fun and joy out of the experience. Saved before the final dungeon/last boss? Go get that sucker and let the credits roll 😎

I would love to see @jon.gvg.io revisit Labo VR and all the games that supported it, since it likely won't be supported on Switch 2 and we may never get a Labo VR2. Or seeing the @gvg.io gang revisit Labo in general!

Presented my husband with a homemade card for our 20 year anniversary. (Yes, I have both the handwriting and drawing skills of a 5 yo 🤡)

Front of card with a crudely drawn Moogle and Chocobo that reads "To my FINAL FANTASY"

Inside left portion of card that reads "You're the… MOOGLE to my CHOCOBO, CACTUAR to my TONBERRY, WHITE MAGE to my BLACK MAGE, BAHAMUT to my ODIN, IFRIT to my SHIVA, and CLOUD to my SEPHIROTH"

Inside of card that reads as follows, set to the music of One Winged Angel from Final Fantasy 7:
"It's been twenty years, twenty years, twenty years;
It's been twenty years, twenty years, twenty years;
TWENTY YEARS!
(dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun)
TWENTY YEARS!
(dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun)"
There is also a crudely drawn image of Sephiroth and Cloud.

Definitely didn't get as much game time as I'd like this year, but my PS5 playtime was dominated by FF7Rebirth, Visions of Mana and PoP: TLC. FF7R was just about everything I wanted from the original FF7Remake. Visions of Mana was decidedly old-school but a wonderful addition to the series.

Fun fact! My coworker Greg Jones helped produced the track, "Kong in the City of Doom" in 1984 with a group called "The Invinceables".
