Lol got me. But also this just seems like a company keeping sales records and then saying "you like to buy the things you've bought." I mean, yeah. Like wow, you know I have a cat, could it have been the recurring cat treat orders??

My least favorite kind of post on this site is "wait, you guys in a totally different country/climate/situation/whatever aren't doing what I'm doing? Why don't you just..." "It's easy for me" levels are off the charts here
Someone in Sweden smugly shocked that the US still has people who heat with oil, someone else patiently explaining the economic factors for it and even including a graph, and the first person ignoring it in favor of their "why don't you just..." bullshit

Obviously I'm posting this because it's a romance novel about a space shuttle astronaut, but the more I look at the cover I think I'm really posting it because of that car 🧐

I don't know what everyone else is talking on here right now but I got a bunch of 1950s cafeteria trays today for a buck fifty a pop and I'm excited about it. These things are so versatile. Cat food dishes and the cilantro I'm growing in the kitchen are about to be living in style

Sorry to intrude but you would love Nature's Metropolis if you haven't already read it. It's about Chicago, but what it's really about is the standardization of wheat, which standardized railcars, which standardized the meat industry, which standardized everything

Streamline moderne is where it's really at. Art deco can be a fussy esp when the Egyptian motifs are heavy, a lot of esp later MCM is very your grandparents' house, but streamline moderne takes the best of both and cranks it way up until you're looking at the future even though it's 90 years old

In 1963 a group of NASA test pilots and engineers surreptitiously special ordered a Pontiac Catalina, turned into a hot rod with drag slicks and roll bars and a big engine, and drove it across the lakebed at Edwards AFB at 110mph towing an experimental aircraft behind it. All in the name of science

I have a lot of thoughts about the use of domestic spaces in GHOST WORLD and of the characters' reactions to them, but it all boils down to this cartoon and how we are all always both of these guys. Is domesticity surrender to the normal, or is it just... normal? Yes.
