Not homesick, just nostalgic: I decided to make beans and cornbread for Sunday dinner for my kiddos. I wanted them to have a taste of what I ate as a kid after church on Sunday. It was the 1980s my parents still drove the 1983 Escort. The smell filled the whole house… rendering started (see photo)

So I made my first attempt in years at homemade cinnamon rolls because I hate the store bought kind because they taste very chemically sweet. I used the wrong type of yeast (active instead of instant) and I mixed the cinnamon sugar and butter together (oops 🫢) but they turned out delicious… 🤷🏽‍♀️
