It's World Kindness Day 2025! A simple way to spread kindness is to join iSightCornwall's wonderful team of volunteers, who are helping to make a real difference to the lives of blind and partially sighted people in Cornwall!
A graphic celebrating World Kindness Day with an image of a hand holding a heart, in that heart is the iSightCornwall logo. Below are three more images, two of them are showing people holding white sticks being guided by someone who is smiling and a third is of a woman with a big smile holding a cup of tea or coffee. The words around the images say this world kindness day... volunteer for iSightCornwall.

Scam Alert! We've had a number of our clients tell us they have been targeted by a scam in which fraudsters obtain your Tesco online logins over the phone by pretending to be a Tesco Mobile employee.
They then use your account to order an expensive phone before calling you again and pretending the order was made in error, giving false information on where to send the phone back where they can then intercept it.
If you or a loved one is contacted by someone claiming to be a Tesco employee, never give them your account details like passwords, passcodes or PINs.

It's #BowelCancerAwareness month and so we're helping to raise awareness of non-visual signs which mean you should make an appointment with your GP. You don't need sight to look for signs and early diagnosis can save lives.
You don’t need sight to look for signs. You don’t need sight to look for signs. Many of us may have heard of visual symptoms to look out for such as stool changes or the presence of blood but there are many symptoms of bowel cancer which can be monitored without sight:
Diarrhoea or constipation that is not usual for you
Needing to poo more or less often than usual for you
Often feeling like you need to poo, even if you've just been to the toilet
Stomach pain
A lump in your stomach
Boating
Losing weight without trying
Feeling very tired for no reason
Bowel cancer can cause anaemia (when you have fewer red blood cells than usual), which can make you feel very tired, short of breath and have headaches.
Many of us may have heard of visual symptoms to look out for such as stool changes or the presence of blood but there are many symptoms of bowel cancer which can be monitored without sight:
If you have any of these symptoms for 3 weeks or more - make an appointment with your GP. The NHS and iSightCornwall logos.
