Meme saying: if I had a nickel for every time a link train derailed this month I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice

I just wish we fixed this crossing on Delridge Way SW once you get off the bridge. It's a recipe for disaster.

A
Anakin and Padme meme. Anakin says: "There's too many people using bikes on the train", Padme asks: "so we'll look into increasing service and make sure there's room for everyone, right?", Anakin looks back in silence, Padme with a worried face asks again: "right?"

It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen @theorcacard.bsky.social

Meme of a board meeting where SDOT asks three people in the room how to solve the congestion issue for the 8 bus route. The first person says to "ask people nicely to not drive", the second person says to "add way finding", the third person says to "give priority to the more efficient form of transportation". SDOT proceeds to angrily throw the third person out of a window.

3/4 Now, imagine if as part of this project we finished the Broad St connection. It would open up an opportunity for a FIFA World Cup bicycle loop!
My proposed FIFA World Cup cycling loop, that uses Alaskan Way for getting from Seattle Center to the Stadium, and a combination of 2nd and 4th aves to get from the stadium to Seattle Center. I mistakenly used Pine St instead of Pike St to get from 2nd to 4th but was too lazy to redraw the lines.

1/4 I live in the vicinity of this project, and use this infrastructure on a daily basis. Here's a few ideas that IMHO would make this project even better: I volunteered for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup last June, and used a bike to get to the stadium for my shifts. This is the route I took:
A screenshot of a map of Seattle, highlighting the route I took on my bike, taking Broad Street down to Alaskan way, and then biking through Alaskan Way until I got to the new Railroad Way that connects directly to Lumen Field

Map of proposed improvements, showing a bike lane extension on the SW side of 4th ave between Vine and Cedar streets, then a diagonal bike crossing that takes bikes to the other side of 4th Ave between Cedar and Clay st, crossing Denny Way and into the east side of 4th ave N, then onto Broad st and finally into 5th Ave N, connecting to the Tomas St bike lanes.

Missing in this picture:
A “water bicycle” (aka as a bicycle mounted on two floating rafts that you can apparently pedal to propel yourself forward? I don’t really know how or if you can steer this thing tbh)

but to your point, also not shown in this map: my favorite way to get to the Westlake Ave bike lanes from north Belltown / Seattle Center

Ran to my window before opening the link because I can see Lumen field from my window and realized it’s on the other side of the stadium ☹️

for what it's worth, they said this on their 1/16 update:
a screenshot from the Waterfront Seattle's January 16th project update stating the following: "The protected bike lane between Yesler Way and Union St will open as early as Wednesday, January 22. Intersections at Yesler Way, Mario Madison, Spring, Seneca, University and Union streets are signalizes, please mind the law and look out for pedestrians and vehicles at crossings."

And of course this new highway interchange will be within a 7min walk from the future Interbay light rail station
