A breath of fresh air to stand on the Rock of Dunamase at sunset and survey all around. Gratitude to the bird that rose into the sky on the left hand side! 🙂 @nlireland.bsky.social @epaireland.bsky.social #ReViewingIreland #EPA_NLI_PiR

If the latest Apple ios MAIL 'Categories' design on your iPhone is driving you nuts, here is the fix. Open the Mail App account and tap the three dots at the top right corner. Select 'List View' to remove Categories. You're welcome! With gratitude to the @dailymail.co.uk

Sparrows in my neighbour's tree. During cold weather, providing water in your garden is extra important. Be sure to provide it in a shallow dish – they want to stand in shallow water, not completely submerge themselves! – #BirdwatchIreland @nlireland.bsky.social @epaireland.bsky.social

There was a reward this morning for an early rise to get to work. I rose at 7am. The rose sky rose two hours later. #sunrise #rosesky

In-depth look at Ireland’s data centres, energy needs and the role of reuse of bogs. @epaireland.bsky.social @nlireland.bsky.social apnews.com/article/ai-d...

Ireland embraced data centers that the AI boom needs. Now they're consuming too much of its energy
Dozens of massive data centers are consuming more electricity than all of the urban homes in Ireland and starting to wear out the warm welcome that brought them here.

Possibly the best 'book' Christmas present of 2024! My alma mater @hotpress.com has produced a book of articles by Micheal D Higgins, written between 1983 – 1993. Of interest to those who lived those years & anyone looking to Ireland's past through a unique lens. shop.hotpress.com/products/pow...

"An ever-present lurker in estuarine creeks, harbours and mudflats, the redshank has a fluting call that is the soundtrack to winter on the wild coast." The 'wild coast' here is the Bull Wall, 6km from Dublin centre city. @nlireland.bsky.social @epaireland.bsky.social #ReViewingIreland #EPA_NLI_PiR

When #ReViewingIreland went to Kerry earlier this month, one trip was the Maharees on the Dingle penninsula, where the community have restored their dunes by planting marram grass and fencing them off from trampling feet, cars, tents. #EPA_NLI_PiR @epaireland.bsky.social @nlireland.bsky.social
View from stoney beach of pathway to road, with chestnut wood fencing either side, and grassy dunes. The sky is blue with rippling white clouds that also are wispy from the wind. A pile of unused fencing is to the right, and a lifebuoy to the right. The stones are medium sized and some have a blue hue, perhaps from the blue sky above.

Galway Metal at Oranmore, Co Galway, where they are passionate about recycling metal waste. #ReViewingIreland (the name of my project on Ireland's environment) went there in mid-October, on a beautiful sunny Autumn day. @nlireland.bsky.social @epaireland.bsky.social #EPA_NLI_PiR
Metal waste at a waste facility in a heap, awaiting the crushing and mincing machines. The metal waste takes up the bottom two thirds of the images, and above a blue sky with wispy white clouds. It is an example of how waste can be oddly beautiful.
