I've been dabbling today. Bad news: runs like ass on my geriatric Core i3 tower, with or without the panel GUI & even with latency set. I can't use it for casual playback yet. However, render.exe works just fine! I made a custom fb2k foo_run preset & a button to invoke it. Near-instant MU2K-2-WAV!

Screenshot of foobar2000 showing the foo_run component's configuration to run the S-MU2000's renderer executable with the target midi sequence in the playlist, which then outputs the selected file to a WAV file on the desktop. Then there's also a toolbar button to perform this operation quickly and easily.

oh yeah I did buy that and then never played that. gaming eyes bigger than my gaming belly. actually I tell a lie I played it briefly once, I didn't know what I had to do and then got pwned by some appallingly OP monster. doubt I even have storage capacity for it now.

Using ASIO output in foobar2000 allows me to use all four outputs on my Scarlett simultaneously (1+2 for my amp/new speakers, 3+4 for my old speakers.) One problem: any time I play a song with a different sample rate, the audio driver resets. So, maybe not a great idea then!

Going on a trip to the HiFi store in Bath tomorrow. I made a playlist for auditioning speakers. It's on my phone but I burned it to a CD-R as well, for minimum fuss and guaranteed lossless transmission. Imagine burning a CD in 2026! Amazed my burner still worked.

So, three ROMs are anomalous. sk1_new_s: Final Fantasy Adventure, seems like the English (US) ver dummied in. sk2_s: As above, a dummied English (US) Secret of Mana sk3_e: Very odd. Intro seq is Japanese, in-game is ostensibly translated, title screen is borked, and it has this funny debug message.

I *could* play the games I have had for a long while but still haven't played, like Metroid Prime 4, Super Mario Wonder or Dark Souls. But OTOH... (*starts 8th save file for Trials of Mana*.) Reminder: if you haven't used every class for every character, you haven't beaten the game!

Fretting about Windows 10 EoL again. I got cold feet with trying Linux Mint at the end of last year, after being advised against dual-booting on my SSD (+ basic anxiety/upheaval.) Lead me to looking at SSD prices - eye-watering! I have a predominantly empty HDD; should I stick Mint on there instead?

I can understand not having wanted to vote for Harris/Walz (though if it was me I would have held my nose and done it), but I cannot understand this argument whatsoever. Surely if the dems pissed you off that much, just stay home? What am I missing?

John Davidson - "Tourette de France" (2007)

There was a show about a guy fae the Borders who had Tourette's. He was in a show as a child. He started a support group as an adult and got to meet Prince Charles, When he shook hands with Charlie he shouted "shakes hands like a poof" and then said to Camilla when shaking hands "Camillas a shit ride". They took the group to France but they kept shouting "bomb" and racist insults at people but trying not to.
It was a show with Keith Allen. Funny at times but tragic too.

On my last ALTTPR run I got a bit stuck again. Lo and behold... "Hyrule Castle": { "Sewers - Dark Cross:1": "TriforcePiece:1" One of these things is not like the other. o_o I am using advanced item placement, but somehow I still expected that this customiser setting would override it.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Randomizer webpage showing a toggle for whether or not to allow dark room navigation without lantern. Even toggling it off, dark rooms with torches are considered to be in logic if you have the Fire Rod.

I made a large Zelda music playlist to listen to with rando runs. First time I have ever made a playlist on mobile foobar before(???) Missing quite a few zelda OSTs but all of the flagship titles except TotK are on there, plus several others, remixes and arrange albums. Should be fun!

Ruh Roh! Here we go again. "Just play The Binding of Isaac, chief" - NO! (well maybe YES!but not yet) Last time I played ALTTPR with keysanity it sucked because I had no way of knowing what key pickups corresponded to which dungeons. "Show dungeon item table in menu✔️" may be different this time.
