There are still spots available for my workshop at the Omaha Comedy Fest! Improvising from the Gut is one of my favorite workshops to teach. It's all about how important it is to surprise yourself on stage, to make impulsive choices and then justify them afterward. www.crowdwork.com/e/improvisin...

I’ve been packing all night for a move, and I found this. I’m good at following directions.
It’s a parking ticket for a parking deck, and the first three words on the ticket are “keep this ticket”.

After this weekend, there can be no doubt. @devindra.bsky.social will win the #summerMovieWager, calling 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 10th place on the nose. There were only two others (Germain and David) who even got 1 movie in the correct spot. Congratulations! Can't wait for Devindra's pick!
My projections for the top 10 movies of the summer in table format. Spider-man will be 1st, followed by The Odyssey, Toy Story 5, Obsession, The Devil Wears Prada 2, Backrooms, Minions & Monsters, Star Wars, Moana and Disclosure Day. Devindra wins with 59 points. Germain will come in second with 49 points.

I'm calling it now, I thought @devindra.bsky.social's path to victory was narrow. I was wrong. By Monday I think 3 things will be clear: The Odyssey will overtake Toy Story. Spiderman will be beat TS as well. And Devindra will WIN THE SUMMER MOVIE WAGER in 2026!
One of two scenarios where Devindra wins the Summer Movie waver with the top three movies ending up Spiderman, The Odyssey and Toy Story (and Disclosure day ending up 10th).The other scenario where Devindra wins the Summer Movie waver with the top three movies ending up The Odyssey, Spiderman, and Toy Story (and Disclosure day ending up 10th).

And by the time Spider-man comes out, we will know if the Odyssey is likely to surpass Toy Story. If it can't, Devindra's chances sadly drop to zero, and it's down to Peter and Germain. If Spider-man wins, Germain wins. If Toy Story wins, it's Peter. 4/
A table showing a hypothetical outcome of the top 10 movies of the summer which determine the summer movie wager. In this scenario, Spider-Man finishes first, The Odyssey finishes 2nd and the Toy Story finishes third. Disclosure Day finishes 10 and Moana slips in at 9. I feel like this scenario is very unlikely but possible. It's one of the 2 narrow paths for Devindra to win.

In another week, we may get a better sense of what place Moana will end up. If it never catches up with Scary Movie, that opens up another avenue for Germain and Devindra's chances evaporate. If it can't catch up to Disclosure Day, BJ is out of the running. 3/

This is the only scenario that BJ and Peter ties in.

Mullaney @ircmullaney.bsky.social · 21/07/2026
Based on pre-sales, I think Spider-man will be a smash hit and overtake Toy Story (70% chance). If that happens Germain wins. That leaves a 25% chance that Peter wins or ties with BJ. And Devindra has only a 5% of winning (the Odyssey would have to beat Toy Story for 2nd). 2/
A table showing a different hypothetical outcome of the top 10 movies of the summer which determine the summer movie wager. In this scenario, Toy-Story finishes first, Spider-Man finishes 2nd and the Odyssey finishes third. Peter wins by 1 point over BJ. Germain comes in 4th.

My current analysis of the #SummerMovieWager: Germain is the favorite. It comes down to how likely Spider-man will beat out Toy Story. If Spider-man wins, Germain wins. If Toy Story Wins, Peter wins (or ties with BJ). Devindra has a chance if the Odyssey can surpass Toy Story. 1/

Here is one of the scenarios where @devindra.bsky.social beat Germain in the #SummerMovieWager. To win, Disclosure Day must finish ahead of Scary Movie. Scary Movie has a slight advantage at this point. Check out scenarios using the "hypothetical" view here: summer-movie-wager.netlify.app

I made some changes to the projections of my website about the #SummerMovieWager. I refined the methods that it uses to project future box office for movies that have been released and I added a chart which shows those projections for the current top 10 movies. summer-movie-wager.netlify.app
Line chart titled "Summer Movie Wager 2026 — Cumulative Box Office, Top 10," updated June 19, 2026. The x-axis runs weekly from May 1 to September 4; the y-axis runs from $0 to $300M. Solid lines show actual cumulative gross; dotted lines show projections past a June 19 cutoff out to September 7. Ten films are tracked. The Devil Wears Prada 2 opened first (early May) and leads on actuals, plateauing near $220M. Obsession opened mid-May, climbs steeply to about $200M by June 19, and is projected highest of all, reaching roughly $260M. Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu (~$168M) and Backrooms (~$160M) sit close together in a third tier, both projected to flatten near $180M. A middle cluster includes Scary Movie (~$85M, projected ~$105M) and Mortal Kombat II (~$80M, nearly flat). A lower group holds The Sheep Detectives (~$60M) and Masters of the Universe (~$50M). Disclosure Day opened latest (mid-June) with low actuals but the steepest projection, climbing from ~$60M to ~$120M. The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act is the lowest, finishing near $40M.

I rolled my own site for The Summer Movie Wager. NOT meant to compete with the official site, but I wanted to add a couple features, like sorting movies by their projected gross. @davechen.bsky.social @devindra.bsky.social @jeffcannata.bsky.social summer-movie-wager.netlify.app

Obsession — $156,133,260 — 25 days — $222M–$318M — Devindra pick rank 1
The Devil Wears Prada 2 — $215,312,353 — 39 days — $219M–$224M — 3

Yeah, and I think there’s been a lot of hand wringing over these, these indexes and these exchanges that have changed their rules like the NASDAQ 100 and the S&P have already or are considering loosening their rules around these so-called seasoning periods, basically.

Used to be, if you were a brand new public company that had just IPOed, you could not be included on these major stock indexes, because they sort of wanted to see like whether you were stable enough to like become part of the basket of blue chips that people invest in when they buy an index fund.

Now, partially because of these looming IPOs, those rules have been relaxed so that these companies are not going to have to wait 3 months or 6 months or a year anymore to be included on these exchanges. Some people have said, well that sounds bad and we’re exposing retail investors to these like volatile and risky stocks. I’m not that worried about it. I think like investors want exposure to these companies.

I know several people in San Francisco who have been sort of like devising these crazy like harebrained schemes to get Pre-IPO stock in one of these companies and, I think that letting the public benefit from the upside of the AI boom, I think is going to do more. Help than harm, but I could be wrong if all of this goes up in a conflagration and people lose their shirts.

You won't believe it... it's a fricking miracle. You know what happened to me? Check this out. I got a text message. From a sitting Democrat who holds a statewide office here in Illinois. And get this... his message DID NOT include a request for money!!!!!! How is this possible?
Hi Kevin,

This is Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias. Tomorrow, Wednesday September 24th, our office is conducting a Virtual Town Hall meeting about the high cost of insurance premiums. Our office is gathering local input from the Peoria area to help inform legislation to address this important issue and put money back in your pocket.

The “Driving Change” statewide campaign is aimed at preventing insurance companies from using data such as credit scores, zip codes and age – to charge you higher auto insurance rates. As part of our campaign, we’re asking you to share your stories about unfair and discriminatory ratemaking practices employed by auto insurance companies by joining this important meeting.

Click here to RSVP to the Town Hall

We hope to see you in attendance tomorrow!
