I’m waiting for more news before O get excited. I love the original series a lot. (It’s why we are rewatching it - again - for our podcast)

I am rereading The Return of the King. I have the whole trilogy in one book, but in Dutch, so last year we bought a really nice hardback collection of all three. Finally reading it in the “original English” 😝 And it also made me revisit the movies and keeping up with you and the Rings of Power.

Ik ben dat beginnen zien. Seizoen 1 was interessant, maar uiteindelijk was het niet genoeg voor mij om het uit te kijken. Gaat er echt vanaf hangen of het klikt met jou als persoon.

I had to drive to a different cinema than my usual one, because they had a HP marathon, so no time for art from a trans film maker... 😡 But they do have showings of "One Night Only"...

I’ve been working on it the whole time, it’s still very rough and I’m reworking act 1 and 2 to start cleaning it up to a workable ending.

Yeah, the numbers need to be pretty big to get anything in return. Meanwhile they’ll still pocket the add money 🤷‍♂️ It’s what it is, I guess. We’re playing in their sandbox, because it’s the biggest. That’s a monopoly for you.

It’s something I wonder a LOT. In Belgium that is budget is huge!! As you said, we make at least 3 good looking movies for that!

And as a film maker myself, I’m actually not into the whole format thing. Don’t really care that it’s bigger. 🤷‍♂️

I've had to unfriend a few fans lately, all for the same reason. They made ridiculing, unkind, and in some cases outright cruel comments about pictures I posted of young women cosplaying Jessica.
More than a person, Jessica is a state of mind. To play Jessica, you need self -confidence, a sense of humor, and a Jessican -attitude-. There is no such thing as a Jessica cosplayer being too short, too flat chested, too heavy, too thin, too unattractive, too black, too Asian, or even too male!!! All Jessica, any Jessica, every Jessica is good Jessica.
I'm not giving any warnings or second chances. A single disparaging comment on a Jessica cosplayer, and I'm throwing you out of the rainbow colored Toontown Tent.

Hot take: if you don’t want to see the Andy Serkis Lord of the Rings movie because of Serkis’ rancid vibes; the animated LOTR: War of the Rohhirrim movie that nobody saw was actually good and textually about how women’s contributions to history are often erased to venerate men.

Had fun with Supergirl. But it's a flawed movie. Script was messy and needed some work to give it weight. And the movie felt cobbled together in the edit. It's the actors that make most of it work, not the script nor the direction.

But they are not allowed to just give out the contract. It has to go out public. Even if only one company signs into the tender.

000

Arne Keustermans @iradonian.bsky.social · 10/06/2026

Yes, state owned companies have to put out a tender of what they want the show to be. And then production companies fill that in, with how they would do it and for which pricing, etc. And then they pick one. This is very normal. My previous employer answered tenders like this all the time.
