We’ve been working hard in MD to electrify our congregations and homes and shift to clean energy. We need all the help we can get, especially as federal incentives have been taken away, and the EmPOWER program makes all the difference. HB 1532, the Utility RELIEF Act, may put this program at risk.

Guided by faith and care for our common home, across Maryland we raised our voices to hold the biggest polluters accountable. Our leaders testified and advocated in Annapolis to pass HB 128, a critical study of the harm climate polluters cause to all of us.

Shortly after Lindsay moved to Baltimore, we measured nitrogen dioxide levels while her gas-burning stove was on. NO2 levels reached more than 4x the EPA’s outdoor safe limit of 100 ppb. Burning gas indoors isn't healthy. We know because we measured it ourselves: beyondgasdc.org/cooking-up-danger
