I watched Korra for the first time recently. From the amount of shipping I remember, I expected it to be a way gayer show than it is. There's some half-baked het romance, but I just didn't really see anything between any of the female characters. No idea why it has this reputation among people.

you're right, but my childhood experience is still kind of puzzling to me. because not only was I called gay despite being 0% interested in boys, I didn't act or present in 'feminine' ways, either. at least, that was never a comment or a criticism that I got from people. never 'girly', just 'fag'
