John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Spring Awakening was my first Broadway show I saw circa 2008(?). Was a great time, still really love the music. Remember walking the CD from the hotel the next morning to the 5th Avenue Apple Store to import it to my iPod for the trip home. 110
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 18/09/2026OBB or even 3D OBB out there as well. I use OBB for my CV models 010
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 24/08/2026I'm dumb sometimes. I misread. Only thing I think I'm missing is the holistic day plan. So, if I have an event, I expect 20 min travel.. I should be able to see that 20 min as a buffer before the event. If I have conflicts, knowing there's a conflict would be helpful. 010
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 27/07/2026The past two years I've made it out to Hala Kahiki with a small group from the conference. Great convos and beverages. 011
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 18/07/2026Know it's little ol' me, but I just hit 1000 tickets created in Linear for @dewygolf.bsky.social; I'm astonished at the amount of work I've put in. 010
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 03/07/2026Just booked my @deepdishswift.com ticket and so excited to attend again in 2027. 040
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 26/06/2026It's really nifty. There's also new HealthKit auth prompts. Last month and everything. Love it. 010
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 24/06/2026Part of building out @dewygolf.bsky.social is building a process and task management system that is flexible, able to work on multiple machines/droplets. Seeing the system churn on ~40k golf courses has been rewarding and very excited to see new courses come "on line" daily. 010
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 19/06/2026I’ve optimized the map collection process to the extent that what was initially expected to take 30 days for the entire USA can now be completed in less than 2 days. Still have more processing/learning to go, but most courses no longer need human intervention to create, understand and validate them 030
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 18/06/2026@dewygolf.bsky.social continues to build out the v1 maps. Looking at this one honking course in Florida I'm excited by the results and the future of golf maps. All that hard work is starting to show up and cannot wait for what's next. 000

John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 24/05/2026This morning, I had a meeting with my sister to discuss a new project she needed for a thesis/class work. (She’s a nurse; I'm not) I quickly used @heygenai.bsky.social's Live Avatar to create a mockup of an experience and test the idea. About 2 hours of work and up and running. 000
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 23/05/2026Wild seeing Brazil/Portuguese overtake US/English for one of my side projects. Localization matters because people being comfortable in the app they use matters. 000
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 19/05/2026Printing my v1 model for @dewygolf.bsky.social maps. Really jazzed to see the numbers improve and all the hard work (hopefully) pay off with clean results. 010

John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 12/05/2026Cont. adventures in annotation. Playing with "ISpy" (don't sue me), where each annotation has it's own frame (crop is user set) can filter on confidence level and then you're off checking "is/is not". Been pretty fun. A few standard of living enhancements like hide/unhide and zoom. 020
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 10/05/2026I've been very curious, seeing a movie in theaters is $$ these days so was gonna buy at home. 000
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 03/05/2026Up early further refining my CV/scorecard parsing model. Hot Chip's In Our Heads is an excellent playing partner for that task. 000
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 03/05/2026Sometimes there's other features detected within the concept of a hole and detecting/representing that is part of the (fun) challenge. John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 03/05/2026As I get deeper into maps, I keep learning new, cool things about how to represent relationships of items to one another. i.e. golf courses have (typically) 9 or 18 holes, each has a tee box, and green.algorithms.discrete.ma.tum.deThe Hungarian MethodThis page demonstrates the Hungarian Method for finding maximal matchings in bipartite Graphs. 110
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 30/04/2026I’ve gained valuable insights, including some marketing knowledge, the frequency of scorecard updates, reasons for cancellations of tee times, and informal optimizations made by the staff that could potentially impact metrics. 020
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 30/04/2026Currently, I’m working from the “cafe” of a golf pro shop, where I occasionally chat with the staff. 120
John Marc @ioloro.bsky.social · 30/04/2026It might sound familiar from my @deepdishswift.com talk, but being part of or interacting with the community you intend to build apps or services for is likely the most significant advantage you could look for. 130
