been a while, been busy i've learned that my cardstock, when laminated, feels very similar to a real card (sleeved), so I've designed a proxy for my lootboxes :3 first time properly working in CMYK as well #furry #protogen #mtgproxy

Just finished refactoring the code (driver, pre-processor) to be more modular and user-friendly. all that's left is writing documentation and instructions, and I'll put it public on GitHub ^^ This will be a cool upgrade for any protogen head with a CoolLEDUX panel, and it costs less than $20

didnt even have to print anything, just popped out one of the gaskets on the face interface out and put everything on that recalibrated the volume limits, did some cable management, and the head is now 100% done!

Pivot has proven to be a lot of work, but very worth it. I've converted everything to MicroPython (w/ swapping Bleak for aioble being the most time-consuming part), and he can now run on a Raspberry Pi Pico 2W. I ordered an I2S microphone chip, should be getting everything done for real next week!

this function is so useful, holy image/gif data is now hard-coded so it's ready to be converted to an APK!

god dammit, guess i'll have to settle for real eyeballs instead.

ioh 🔜 GFM @iohtheprotogen.gay · 02/09/2026

the code is coding! need to tweak a couple of the viseme thresholds probably, and then get him mic'd up and put the code on my phone or something, but for the most part, he is 100% complete 👀 tail time

ioh 🔜 GFM @iohtheprotogen.gay · 01/09/2026

initial battery test very good :D had him running for 4.5 hours and only went down 24%. this should also leave some decent overhead for the LEDs of the armor for the fullsuit eventually, as well as any fans and a raspberry pi if i end up using that for control

ioh 🔜 GFM @iohtheprotogen.gay · 30/08/2026

few small final tweaks: - vinyl backing on cheek panels to prevent interior light bleed - reattached the voltage controller thingy (green zip tie was not planned) - redid the magnets for the left ear (right) so its more even

head done!!! (minus a couple small final tweaks and the animation controller) have at least found a repo to base that off of so i dont have to reverse engineer the protocol ✨ #protogen #fursuit #fursuitmaking

Gave the thing a narrative The world has its cruelties; do not become one of them. Keep going. It's going to be okay. It is good to be principled, but it is better to be humane. Second chances are deserved, but third chances must be earned. You don't need to believe; just don't stop moving forward.

anyone know what it's called when you're sleep deprived and the constant stream of intrusive thoughts turns off and the only things in there are the intentional ones done a few all-nighters the past few months, and it's something i've noticed, and am very fascinated by

happy to see this addressed in the recent announcement. I think a disclaimer on the schedule page that it's a work in progress would have saved a great deal of stress for staff and attendees alike

020

ioh 🔜 GFM @iohtheprotogen.gay · 22/07/2026

Megaplex schedule change is effectively just optics since all that stuff was in the same room the whole time anyway, but the decluttering is good nonetheless. Happy to see the Sunday parade now, too. That said, it is still a shame that Sunday evening, past closing and the parade, is empty

good news: visor can have dynamic, low-latency animations controlled via Bluetooth bad news: documentation for the CoolLEDX protocol does exist, but the device I have uses a variant of the protocol (CoolLEDUX) to which said documentation does not apply REVERSE ENGINEERING TIME!
