This Late Iron Age cast dragonesque brooch features a complicated design with schematic animal heads at either end and a yin-yang in the centre. Dragonesque brooches were made from around 75–175 CE in Roman Britain.

'Cast Shadows,' (1891) is the perfect example of Emile Friant's paintings during the late 19thC, the majority show a sympathetic theme that stresses devotion and personal reflection, a specific meaning or mood akin to some religious works by William Bouguereau.

Lungwort lichen (Lobaria pulmonaria) - a combination of a Fungus an Algae and a photosynthesising Cyanobacteria. It shape and colour make it easy to mistake for leaves at a passing glance. Its presence in a woodland is an indicator of high air quality. County Clare, Ireland.

So for my last outfit of @thehenryford.bsky.social's #FabricofAmerica exhibit, here is this 1947 evening dress by Sophie Gimbel. She ran Salon Moderne, an exclusive boutique in Saks Fifth Avenue. The same year as this dress, she became the first woman designer on the cover of Time magazine.
