Meg Mindlin @invertebabe.bsky.social · 18/09/2026The pandemic affected me in a way I never would’ve expected A top notch horror movie comes out and I get sad from it because the entire plot line is the lab leak conspiracy Like damn, Raccoon City is really what people tried to convince us would happen with mRNA vaccines 😭 161
Meg Mindlin @invertebabe.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Head and neck cancer is what my father had! We (SUFS) covered Gleevec previously, and shockingly that was the experimental drug that gave him a fighting chance! So happy to hear immunotherapies are helping head and neck cancers as well!! Meg Mindlin @invertebabe.bsky.social · 06/09/2026I say this because previously I saw phd cohorts as big as 20-30 students. These last few years they’ve been reduced to 3-5, or 0. Damn good scientists used to be included with the best & most accomplished. Not so much anymore. If I had just been born a few years earlier… I’d be in no problem 0102

Meg Mindlin @invertebabe.bsky.social · 06/09/2026I’m making the best of the situation, truly. But watching my peers & myself loose our careers because universities no longer have the funding for a couple of PhD students, sometimes none at all… Man it’s heartbreaking. So much important research is done by PhD students that is now lost 1181
