Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Whoa, that's very cool. I'll keep my eyes open for the pattern. 110
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I'm so impressed you made those without a pattern! 110
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I'm pretty proud of this, too, as it was my FIRST STEEK!! so maybe #showmeyourknits for this week?? 0160
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Same sweater, four faces. I started this Annabelle Sweater in January. All the details are in my project page on Ravelry (in bio), but basically it's Fibre Co. Lore plus mohair. Nobody had made this except the designer! And it wasn't supposed to be patterned all over, but I loved the pattern. 🧶 4241
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Deism Sweater is still in my queue for stash busting (holding together multiple strands and swapping one out as it runs out). Haven’t made it yet, though! 010
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I’ve decided to forge ahead… found some pretty yarn, (had to change my color ideas) so we’ll see how it goes! 000
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 25/09/2026That’s what I’ve always done! For the last three days I’ve practiced the two- handed technique and it’s actually not too bad once you get the yarn wrapped the right direction around the left index finger. That part is important. But we’ll see !! 000
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 25/09/2026That’s great news! The pattern I’m doing calls for kokon bleu too, but I saw what others had done and I wanted a unique sweater. I got some fingering highland wool that was dyed just right, so off we go. I’ll have to use 2.75mm though. It’s mostly k1mc, k1cc repeat corrugated -so a long slog! 110
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Oh that's good feedback. I thought about starting this yarn dyeing thing, but decided to stick with just knitting. I ended up buying some highland fingering that I finally found someone had dyed - but I also had to change my idea of the pattern & coloring. 220
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 25/09/2026For the yarn dyers! Is it possible to speckle-dye NSW (nonsuperwash) fingering wool?? I don't see NSW for sale much. Does the heat process ruin it? I'm not finding what I want online. Wanted to maybe try it myself with Cascade 220 fingering NSW, but not if it's going to ruin the yarn. 🧶 450
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 24/09/2026She’s banking on the pattern to squish it together, but I’m looser with the floats and that doesn’t happen for me that much, so I may have to size down to a smaller sweater size. 000
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 24/09/2026I double checked, and that’s the gauge pre-blocking. They have 36 st for after blocking. It’s called Punk Sweater by Meret Buetzberger. 001
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 23/09/2026If I knit to gauge using the k1mc, k1cc, then I’d need a 2.25mm… might be able to get away with up to a 2.75 if I tighten my colorwork! It wants 38 st per 10cm 100
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 23/09/2026It’s a k1mc, k1cc repeat over a lot of it, in between charts. I think that’s what freaks me out. Learning to use both hands and how I might just cramp up. I’m leaning towards no, but we’ll see how strong my resolve is. 110

Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 23/09/2026You will need a longer circular for your cast on, and I recommend just using it for the whole sock (magic loop method). Some people love knitting top-down, but I’m a toe-up person. That way I can try it on as I go. Learn the JMCO - Judy’s magic cast on. youtu.be/O9UPjGhpel6xusHD 010
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 23/09/2026This would be a US1 to get gauge, but I'm not willing to go that small! It's a K1MC K1CC (repeat) for most of the sweater. I have to have the sweater, but the only way to have it is to make it. Unless I start hitting up the people who have made it already in my size to see if they're willing to sell 100
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Survey! 1. Have you ever knit a sweater with sock yarn? 2. What size needle did you use?? 3. How long did it take??? Before I embark on absolute foolishness! 🦥🧶 961
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 23/09/2026If anyone is still looking for Acadia yarn by The Fibre Company, they have some colors at Leelanau Fibers in Michigan! 🧶 110
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Not sure how the color will show here, but it’s done except for the steek and button placket! 000
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 21/09/2026#showmeyourknits is autumnal colors this week. Hmmm. My rusty Foxy? Many changes were made to the original pattern by Wollmuschi. Yarn is Delaine Merino (discontinued) with a little Cumbria in the yoke. 3330
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Finished a pair of Yin/Yang mittens in alpaca boucle. I never would have done this with this yarn, other than I had a moratorium on buying more yarn. 🧶 😂 Do not recommend. 180

Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 28/08/2026I’m a big believer in words just meaning what meaning you give them. To me the Kitchener stitch is just a grafting technique, and doesn’t glorify anything anyone may or may not have done. Do the people of Kitchener Ontario feel shame talking about their city? It’s OK that there is separation there. 000
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 28/08/2026It’s been a rough couple years for the fiber companies. ❤️🩹 010
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 24/08/2026Thanks! It’s designed to be a lighter weight summer tee, but I needed more winter clothes. I love the ribbed arms because mine are 20” around and I usually have to redesign the sleeves. Not this time! 110
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 24/08/2026Diona Tee (Longsleeve sweater version). Took me over a year because of discontinued yarn, then later found a couple sources pop up so I could finish the sleeves! Pattern by Sari Nordlund. Yarns are The Fibre Company Acadia in Thistle, and Dream in Color Suzette in Plum. Both discontinued. #knitsky 3331
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Berenice and Albertine are what I used together for my last FO. So luxurious!! 110
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 21/08/2026For #showmeyourknits stripes week, I present to you Blunk the Hat. It’s two alternating skeins, one of them a gradient. The construction is totally weird. And this one’s huge because I insisted on using worsted. You can find all the details about my projects in my ravelry.. link in bio. 1221
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 05/08/2026I hang it on a thumbtack (the kind that sticks out like a peg) or a nail. Pic of some cords as an example. Lots of holes in wall, but it works and I don't go crazy! The rubber band sticks enough that they don't slip and uncurl. Hair ties also work for this if you want to color code them the same. 010
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 05/08/2026circulars that don't unscrew become unmanageable really fast. Multiple cord lengths, etc. I started bundling the different lengths of a needle size, like all the 5's, and putting a rubber band through the circle, sliding one side of the rubber band through the other side, to make a loop, and then - 000
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 05/08/2026I got an interchangeable needle set, which came with its own plastic storage case (don't love it, but it functions). I have an empty clear gelato container that I store my DPNs in, bundled by size with thin color-coded hair bands (too thick and they'll all come out when you grab a set). (continued) 010
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 05/08/2026Oh, no, that stinks!! Well, I would say if the yarn is properly sticky, maybe you can just dampen the ends and rough them up a little on the backside and they'll stay put. After all that disappointment, I'd give that a try first. Or steek where the ends are and just seam them into oblivion. haha. 010
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 04/08/2026#knitsky (ran out of room). I think because of the dye lots being so different i'll have to overdye the sweater at the end. I don't mind it. Better than worrying about the stripes. 020
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 04/08/2026Couldn't decide which shot I liked best, so uploaded all 4. My sweaters take so long that the manufacturers often discontinue the yarn before I finish. That was true with BOTH the yarns I held together on this Diona Tee! But I found more, so the sleeves continue to get longer. Same cables on back. 2200

Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 25/07/2026I've had one of those - probably in 1994 or something. It's long gone, but you never forget a Poang chair! 000
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 22/07/2026@knitsky I have a FO! needs buttons stitched on at waistband. Pattern: Maiija Crossover on Rav. I paired a fingering wt merino-silk w/ a mohair. Size 10 US needles. De Rerum Natura is lovely yarn. In Oursin. Had yarn 🐓 as it was sold out nearly worldwide! I may have bought the last ones! Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 19/07/2026I almost exclusively shop on WoodlandCompany, so I only see what they have to offer. The one instance where I’m not much of a comparison shopper. 010
Jen Jasperson @interstellarhomie.bsky.social · 19/07/2026From what I’ve read, it seems that they take parts from other companies that are made in different places and they add the metal machine parts to it. Lantern moon is made in India and LYKKE is made in Nepal, but the machining is done by knit pro in those brands. 110
