so now they don't get at-cost chips and have to sell with the markup. add on the ram crisis and you get pis which kinda have crappy hardware to begin with costing more than an x86 mini desktop pc. lame all around. (some) pi clones like librecomputer are halfway decent replacements

for the last couple times where i needed a small computer-type device, i ended up just buying a mini PC since it was about the same price. price is due to how their deal with Qualcomm fell through since they started operating as a for-profit, despite the deal being a discount if they are non-profit

weird. presumably you're hosting a mesh node? what mesh board are you using? I can't imagine with 15000mhA of reserve power that it would drain that fast, unless its configured to TX at a very high duty cycle/high power? paper napkin math for a RAK chip should last ~120hrs on 15000mhA i would think?

I'll have to double check but I believe its only a 10w or 12w USB pannel. It mostly is able to get through the night due to just tons of power storage and lasts a few days before it runs out and has a chance to get enough sun.

Results of ~1 yr deployed meshtastic solar node in the PNW. not pictured were the 18650s that somehow survived without detonating. guess i didn't waterproof it enough but i'm gonna take it apart and see if its still kicking. pcb seems safe from rust so far.

oh yeah another thing I noticed instantly about the resident evil movie is that (whether intentionally or not) they used a lot of the same stock sound effects of snow stepping and windy sounds they use in source/hl2/gmod and i was leo-pointing every time it played. felt fitting for a game-movie.
