My first thought was "well maybe there's something to consider there" Then I looked up the boundary ...
Urban growth boundary limit. It already extends deep into the Cascade foothills and includes areas that are mostly hobby farms.

I've seen a 60s era proposal the would have basically filled all of San Francisco Bay except channels large enough for creeks and rivers to drain. There was hubris in the post-War generation. They also tried to turn the space above cities into a web of urban multilateral highways.

Particularly because we got him elected and then he turned out to be quite a disappointment. Pound sand, guvnor. I don't support wildcat transit strikes in general but "Or what" indeed.

This is my commute route! I'm really looking forward to seeing how it looks. I'm worried it will all be 5 ft wide bidirectional bike paths. Even that is still probably safer than the Melrose trail end at Lakeview and Belmont. Cars drive right at me there almost every evening.

My assumption is that adding parking restrictions isn't free in a town where people quickly adapt to what's enforced and what isn't. Do meter readers make back their pay in tickets? I kind of don't want to know. I think the only way to reduce parking is to reduce parking.

I don't see anything mitigating the traffic noise from I-5 so I'm guessing the shared path will end being for bikes and scooters only by default. So, yes! That works. And the design suggests a flow from south of 130th to north at 1st Ave and then to the station.

What seems to be getting built is basically a few improvements to the existing sidewalk there. That's great for walkers. Is there something else I'm missing that's for bikes and scooters?

As long as the 130th overpass remains inhospital for humans in bikes, Pinehurst is useless to me. I'll just continue using Northgate and Shoreline South.

With Nelson I can't tell if she honestly thinks she's in some kind of not enough heard from majority or if she's just in on the grift. Ok. I think I answered my own question.

I saw a wrap on a van for a home construction contractor and had the same reaction. It's off- putting. But I suspect I'm in the minority.

This is the first I've heard of it. Welp. I hate that that takes a lot of the shine off the news around him from earlier this week but it sure does. People, please don't do these stupid things! I barely care that this happened so long ago. It's so gross!!

Directing the City's lobbyists to push the State legislature to raise the self perform dollar limit is a bigger deal than I suspect many realize. This could allow dozens of smaller projects to move faster, cost less, and allow more flexibility in execution.

It's interesting you mention dismissing Barnes. The petition a handful of people filed for a recall campaign came on the heels of that. If there is a recall campaign, will you commit any time and energy to pushing against it?

There is some kind of media lesson given that this is basically another part of the much louder headline about the opening date getting pushed back. That lesson might simply be that all the big media outlets are gunning for Mayor Wilson and the schedule slip is blood in the water.
