INSTAR DAY!! have an alternate timeline of mine that uses the official design with the twist of captured wreatures blended into the suspiciously yellow flesh cloak. this Instar never found Somsnosa and Absent Moon events uprooted his life, pushing him to seek protection and control [1/3] #hylics

Instar, with his real design scrapped from hylics that was revealed year ago, with my idea addition of his outer yellow cloak being made of living, captured wreatures under his control. he is using one to lash out its hands to the right. there is also a clearer drawing of his face which was wrecked into tendrils that flow behind his head. he is standing on green grass, and this art set was colored with alcohol markers

instar sitting on the ground letting an anomalocaris-like wreature partially emerge from the cloak. his control simultaneously raising the wreatures appendages and his own face tendrils, giving off a disinterest of being approached. it is also serene and embracing, leaving the nature of the alarming symbiosis to be unclear or grey.

[2/3] learned his first gesture, one clear to him, but proscribed as a hazard. his first try at flesh-manipulation ability contorted his face. w/ high will he gesturally maintains a handle on it, plus many disarmed wreatures in deprived symbiosis, churned into a protective multi-utility garb #hylics

instar before the cloak, after his first try at this flesh-manipulation gesture pulled apart his face in a forward motion. he is arched forward and his face is in tendrils and slipping off his skull.

a wayne-splosion of the outer yellow flesh layer, revealing the red lining of the cloak underneath. some sort of all out attack

[3/3] future is unclear. the ranch exists, but the new beasts' takeover is autonomous and dangerous. his ability allows only him to safely take juice from there, but its no longer his home. reunions now would be in vain without extreme measures, as its not safe to interact with him physically

1 year ago today Instar's full design was revealed to the public! Here's a new piece I made to celebrate. #hylics

All of this drawn within the golden ratio with Instar standing to the right side of the image with the spire of the drill castle seen behind them on the opposite side, there is also a smoke signal seen spiraling from the left to the right.

Nearly a year ago, on January 30th, @s-for-sprinkles.bsky.social was allowed to reveal the full design of #hylics 2's cut character, Instar. These sprites were completely wiped from H2's files and had to be given by Mason directly. Thus, January 30th is international Instar day!!
