Une étude récente montre que certaines interactions avec les humains apaisent les poules et améliorent leur bien-être. Cependant, des différences marquées sont observées selon la race et les modalités de ces interactions.

La présence d’arbres dans les pâturages, entre autres services, offre aux animaux un abri naturel contre le soleil et la chaleur. Cette étude montre que l’ombre est activement recherchée par les brebis, même en dehors des jours de forte chaleur, mais qu’il est nécessaire de définir un seuil de densité acceptable pour préserver la quantité d’herbe disponible et ne pas altérer les performances animales.
