Ok, yeah, no. This is not "normal" weather for the area. (I still need to put googly eyes on this one. The last one died shortly after I did, so I was hesitant to do the same.) At least the air is just hot, not full of resinous smoke again like yesterday.
A photo of a black framed Sharp brand digital clock & temperature station reading 1:49 pm (PST).

The important bits are the temperature readings at the bottom:
80.6°F (inside) and 100.0°F (outside sensor)
The date is today, Wednesday Sept 9 (reading in between the two temperature readings)

The large clock is on a light blue wall.

I'm having to learn an open source image editor AND a blogging platform from scratch. We're in uncharted territory here, folks. Call it productive procrastination.

Whelp. Not sure what to do about inkvent / teavent / watercolourvent Have had to cancel 1 of 2 appts today (& possibly the second one, too) due to migraine & vestibular stuff. Took meds, had soup. Not sure how to string words together (aphasia). Will try to catch up after therapy (if it happens).

Ashbycat update: it’s a sunny & really lovely day out after the rain & Ashbycat is back on the porch! I went out to shake out/wash the towel on the other chair for him, but he is curled up on it, so it’ll wait. I got a big yawn & some rumbly purrs in exchange for cheek & head scritches.
Large fuzzy shorthaired (but dense!) mid grey tomcat named Ashby curled up on a mostly out of frame green wire cafe chair on which has been placed a too big cushion & black towel. The towel is grubby, sun bleached & Ashby could care less at this point. There are bits of tiny pink flowers from a tree on the towel (and cat) & a blurry midcentury pebble cement porch in the background.

AAHHHH This is not a drill! NEIGHBOUR GREYKITTY ASHBYCAT is BACK on the chair out front!! We had a sighting a couple weeks ago out back (hadn’t seen him in AGES) so knew he hadn’t become coyote dinner. I just got the teeniest of hisses (for waking him up) & some screamy chin scritches! So happy!
A loafed large grey short haired outdoor kitty named Ashby looking to the viewer’s right on a large square light grey patio cushion on a dark green iron wire-style cafe chair. There’s another chair/cushion combo behind Ashby but with a sun-faded & dusty black towel on it. (Needs a wash)

It’s super cold & very blustery so the kitty looks perpetually humped up & annoyed.

In true Inkygeek style, I go to the www.SRL.org machine shop garage sale (so many CCTV cameras, lenses, bits & a whole bunch of Intuos 3 tablets) & only come out with esoteric paper products: (They’re saying they’ll keep doing this every Sunday for a few weeks; will update if/when I hear more)
Small pile of unusual paper items in the dirty back seat of a car. A box of MED-PAK brand Chemical/Thermal ECG Recording paper, a roll of gridded paper that is for machine output, a box of HeartLine brand ECG paper rolls sitting on a packet of sheets of specialised graph paper for some sort of medical use. (I did leave some behind).Front door of SRL’s current warehouse in Petaluma. You can see some carts to the left stacked with all sorts of esoteric equipment. It’s a light brown single-storey building with the big red “SRL” letters above a door with a very blue sky beyond.

I used an Animaniacs (plastic) lunchbox in High School as a handbag. Still have it in my closet. Not sure what happened to the Thermos (I vaguely remember the print coming off in the wash). Too lazy to get it out, here’s another: static.fandomspot.com/images/11/41...

Oh dear. Ashby is on the porch still (again?) this morning & is VERY WET AND GRUMPY. I stood with the door open for a bit & he just glared at me & yelled, all humped up. I’m not sure his person is/has been home. Going to try to figure out how to contact her today. (Only have her ex’s #.)

I took a tiny nap & thanks to said tiny nap I am in the bedroom when the light is just right to reflect rainbows all over the room off the disco trash can in here. I’m never in here for it usually. No pics of the trashcan, just the rainbows.

I stayed in a hipster hotel room in LA many years ago that had a fish as an amenity. (See alt-text). *Still* don’t know how I feel about it. Definitely not as cuddly as a cat-menity would be.

Inkventpocalypse Day 25 aka Enigma Stationery & Diamine Inkvent last day. Day 25 is a short one, only 2 swatches. Love the Gas Works Park by @thewetpen.bsky.social Unsure about the Diamine. Details & lots more info in Alt Text, more photos at open IG, linked shortly.
A dotted notepad held open with a Traveler’s Company brand brass clip. The main notepad has 2 swatched inks, (will be described in detail momentarily) with those ink bottles to the right of the notepad, along with the tools that were used to make the swatches (Top to bottom Tachikawa wooden nib holder with pink silicone grip holding a tubular steel Kakimori nib; a clear with silver sparkles proprietary Sailor Hocoro Dipton nib holder with a yellow Fude nib; a clear standard Sailor Hocoro with the blue fine nib).

To the left is the Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 3D printed coin.

Everything is sitting on the Enigma Stationery Inkvent scratch off sheet that tells what the daily ink sample is. Day 25 is scratched off and says “The Wet Pen Gas Works Park”.

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 25 The Wet Pen Gas Works Park which is an olivey green with red/bronze sheen on this paper. The doodle is of the park in Seattle.

Bottom ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Good Tidings (extreme sheen) which appears black with purple in the part that my hand oils repelled the ink thickness. It has minimal green sheen. The doodle is of a couple envelopes with heart seals.

Inkventpocalypse Day 24 aka Enigma Stationery, Diamine, & Colorverse inkvent (plus 2 Tony’s tiny chocos). Day 24 is the last day for Colorvent & chocos. Warm colours & two shimmers, very sparkly! Details & lots more info in Alt Text, more photos at open IG, linked shortly.
A dotted notepad held open with a Traveler’s Company brand brass clip. The main notepad has three swatched inks, (will be described in detail momentarily) with those ink bottles to the right of the notepad, along with the tools that were used to make the swatches (L-R Tachikawa wooden nib holder with pink silicone grip holding a tubular steel Kakimori nib; a clear with silver sparkles proprietary Sailor Hocoro Dipton nib holder with a yellow Fude nib; a clear standard Sailor Hocoro with the blue fine nib).

To the left is 2 wrapped (tiny) Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate: yellow orange wrapped “milk chocolate caramel sea salt”.

Everything is sitting on the Enigma Stationery Inkvent scratch off sheet that tells what the daily ink sample is. Day 24 is scratched off and says “Colorverse Project 012 ⍺ Ori”.

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 24 Colorverse Project 012 ⍺ Ori which is an orange red colour that has no shimmer or sheen. The doodle is of the constellation Orion.

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Salted Caramel (shimmer) which is a cool-toned yellow brown/gold sort of colour w/dense gold shimmer. The doodle is of two squares of chocolate with big round pieces of salt on top.

Bottom Ink is the last Colorverse Colorvent 2024 - Christmas Star (glistening) (*note, I usually type the holiday as “xmas”, but since it’s the name of the ink I’ll type it out as named, along with the names as US-language specific, I usually use international-english spellings.) the ink is a warm buttery yellow-orange with gold/orange shimmer. It’s closer to what I’d expect the Salted Caramel to be, but it’s a really lovely warm and readable yellowy-orange that definitely is starry. The doodle is of an 8 pointed star tree topper.

Inkventpocalypse Day 23 aka Enigma Stationery, Diamine, & Colorverse inkvent (plus a Tony’s tiny choco). Day 23 is a bunch of bluey greeny oceany sparkly earthy colours. Nothing extra weird, but some pretty ones.

To the left is a wrapped (tiny) Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate: dark blue wrapped “dark milk chocolate pretzel toffee”.

Everything is sitting on the Enigma Stationery Inkvent scratch off sheet that tells what the daily ink sample is. Day 23 is scratched off and says “ Ishimaru Bunkudo Nagasaki Miyoshi Iki Blue Emerald”.

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 23 Ishimaru Bunkudo Nagasaki Miyoshi Iki Blue Emerald which is an oceany carribbeany teal turquoise with dark shading in the swatch, but is lighter in writing. It went on very dry. The doodle is of the islands that the ink is named for and some ocean in the middle.

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Pine Needle (chameleon) which is a yellow leaning piney green with bright lime green shimmer at one angle and teal shimmer at another. The doodle is of various pine needles.

Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Dante’s Cosmology a flat purpley blue. There wasn’t a ton of shading and no sheen. It is an all around nice blue ink. The doodle is of Dante’s levels of existence (sort of).

At the bottom of the page is the social media info, titles in Blue Emerald & the usernames in Dante’s Cosmology:

Inkventpocalypse Day 22 aka Enigma Stationery, Diamine, & Colorverse inkvent (& a Tony’s tiny choco). Day 22 = 2 shimmers - a weird greybrown & an oceany one. 1st one I’ve owned - a purple grey. I’ve typed Portuguese so many times now. Details & lots more info in Alt Text link to open IG soon

Everything is sitting on the Enigma Stationery Inkvent scratch off sheet that tells what the daily ink sample is. Day 22 is scratched off and says “Kobe Ink #32 Tamon Purple Grey”.

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 22 Kobe Ink #32 Tamon Purple Grey, which is a dark purple with greyed undertones. The doodle is from a Postcard of a street in Edo Japan (Tamon Street, Kobe). Vanness Pens says this: “Tamon Street is a popular entertainment district for Kobe people".

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Nutmeg (shimmer) a greyish-warm-taupey-brown colour that defies description. It has a fairly heavy gold shimmer. There is some shading. The doodle is of a couple dried nutmeg seeds.

Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Portuguese Meteor (glistening) is the second of the non-standard inks in this Colorvent. It’s an oceany Caribbean blue that shades wonderfully and has a very subtle aqua blue shimmer. It foamed up and was very hard to get the shimmer to translate to the page. It’s very stubborn. The doodle a drawing of the meteor that was on social media in 2024 over Portugal.

Inkventpocalypse Day 21 aka Enigma Stationery, Diamine, & Colorverse inkvent (plus a Tony’s tiny choco). Day 21 is the opposite of Day 20. All 3 are saturated. A shimmery green, a musty sheener & a gorgeous red-orange.

To the left is a wrapped (tiny) Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate: light blue wrapped “dark milk”.

Everything is sitting on the Enigma Stationery Inkvent scratch off sheet that tells what the daily ink sample is. Day 21 is scratched off and says “Papier Plume Faceless Lady”.

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 21 Papier Plume Faceless Lady, which was a show special ink for Chicago Pen Show 2024. It’s a foresty, almost deep copper patina green with silver shimmer. It shades nicely. The doodle is of the named Faceless Lady, a statue that doesn’t have a face due to being at the top of a building in Chicago & the artist didn’t think anyone would ever see it.

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Cosmic Glow (Extreme Sheen) is a stinky, musty sheening blurple. The sheen is so heavy it stuck to my nibs and rinse glass. The ink smelled bad in the bottle. The doodle is just some space clouds.

Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Giant Sunspot is a shading red-orange. It’s very well behaved and legible. The doodle is of a sun with a blob missing to illustrate a sunspot.

Inkventpocalypse Day 20 aka Enigma Stationery, Diamine, & Colorverse inkvent (plus a Tony’s tiny choco). Day 20 is three moody pastels. A warm terracotta, a shady purple & a grey-pink-blue (not another grey!) Details & lots more info in Alt Text, more photos at open IG, linked shortly.

To the left is a wrapped (tiny) Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate: red-orange wrapped “milk chocolate”.

Everything is sitting on the Enigma Stationery Inkvent scratch off sheet that tells what the daily ink sample is. Day 20 is scratched off and says “Colorverse Project 028 α Ari”

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 20 Colorverse Project 028 α Ari, which is a warm orangey peachy colour with some graphite/grey bits in the heavier areas. The writing samples show more shading than the swatch. The doodle is from the ink bottle label, a constellation of a few stars.

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Potpourri (standard) is thankfully not scented, a dusty multichrome shader that is overall a warm lavender with grey tones, blue and pink shading around the edges. It shades heavily, but legibly, in the writing and doodle of a bag of potpourri.

Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 White Hole which is not another grey, but is a greyed watery blue with some hints of pink in the heavier areas. It also shades heavily, just with less obvious other colours involved. The doodle is an attempt at drawing rays coming out of a graphed vortex shape.

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 19 Laban Poseidon, which is a light to mid depth aqua-blue ink that has some shading in the main swatch. The ink was dry but wet at the same time. It didn’t stick to any nibs. The doodle is of some waves with a trident.

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Fruit Cocktail (scented) a flat light to mid orange (like Irn Bru or Tang) with no shading or sheen. It smells *bad* like fruity hairpsray. The doodle is of a dessert glass & some fruit.

Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Milky Way (glistening) a deep plummy purple with fine, consistent aqua shimmer that echoes the Laban Poseidon. The doodle is a bad from-memory drawing of a galaxy.

Inkventpocalypse Day 18 aka Enigma Stationery, Diamine, & Colorverse inkvent (plus a Tony’s tiny choco). Day 18 is a beautiful dusty purple from The Wet Pen, a sassy teal-red sheener & yet another grey.

To the left is a wrapped (tiny) Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate: white wrapped “white”.

Everything is sitting on the Enigma Stationery Inkvent scratch off sheet that tells what the daily ink sample is. Day 18 is scratched off and says “The Wet Pen Western Trillium”

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 18 The Wet Pen Western Trillium which is a beautiful, subdued violet/purple ink that shades. There is a doodle of Western Trillium flowers in the ink.

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Vibe (extreme sheen) which is a dark teal base that is obscured by the extreme red sheen. It is less sheeny in the doodle of a censorship bar.

Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Morning Glow which is yet another grey ink. This one has some areas of pink and blue chromashading, but overall is just a nice light grey. The doodle is of a sunrise.
Door text explains: “Morning Glow is a color inspired by the moment when the morning dawns and the sky is bathed in a beautiful light.”

Inkventpocalypse Day 17 aka Enigma Stationery, Diamine, & Colorverse inkvent (plus a Tony’s tiny choco). Day 17 is a pen show LE sky blue from a small maker; another holiday red, with bling & a holiday tree green.

To the left is a wrapped (tiny) Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate: dark blue wrapped “70% dark chocolate”.

Everything is sitting on the Enigma Stationery Inkvent scratch off sheet that tells what the daily ink sample is. Day 17 is scratched off and says “Papier Plume Carolina in My Mind”

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 17 Papier Plume Carolina in My Mind, a medium dark teal or sky blue ink with some minimal shading. This was a LE show special ink for the Triangle Pen Show in 2021.

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Winter Berry (chameleon), a pinky medium holiday red with red/copper/pink shimmer that isn’t over the top. It’s a slightly blingy holiday red.

Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 NGC 2264. This is a mid-depth semi-shading foresty pine-tree green that leans a bit yellow.
Door text explains: “NGC 2264 was inspired by a photo of the galaxy taken last winter. It reminds me of a Christmas tree.” (No idea who “me” is.)

Inkventpocalypse Day 16 aka Enigma Stationery, Diamine, & Colorverse inkvent (plus a Tony’s tiny choco). Day 16 is another Teranishi ink in an unusual colour, another grey & a VERY FLAT neutral black.

To the left is a wrapped (tiny) Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate: orange-orange wrapped “milk chocolate caramel sea salt”.

Everything is sitting on the Enigma Stationery Inkvent scratch off sheet that tells what the daily ink sample is. Day 16 is scratched off and says “Guitar Emotional Olive”

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 16 (Teranishi) Guitar (Taisho Roman Hikara) Emotional Olive, a shading light olive / yellow green with pink bits in the large swatch. The text and doodle are harder to read, lighter in colour.

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Tundra (standard) another grey from Diamine, this is a medium shading grey with a bit of a warm tone in the swatch, but is just mid-grey in written text.

Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Eclipse Silence is a deep, flat very dense (but not sticky or sheeny) solid black ink. It didn’t have a lot of flow (I had to dip my pen, even with a feed, in it several times to finish words) but wasn’t terribly dry. It was an odd texture. The rinse water was a grey colour, which is odd for such a dense black, I’d expect some red in it.

Needed to make a post to prove to @inkdependence.bsky.social that I framed & hung his goldfish painting (glad you signed it!) on my wall in my studio. It’s all a work in progress (need to fix the speaker cables) but here it is!
An iPhone photo of several framed prints, postcards & a Kitty Craft poster behind a monitor, all on a light lavender wall. The reflection on the glass is unfortunate & unavoidable, sorry. The important one is the far right framed naïve goldfish watercolour artwork by Mike Matteson.

(Things aren’t as crooked as they appear in this photo, plus it’s very rainy, so light is weird)

Inkventpocalypse Day 15 aka Enigma Stationery, Diamine, & Colorverse inkvent (plus a Tony’s tiny choco). Day 15 is a stupidly named but gorgeous green, another sheening rusty colour & a sea blue. Details & lots more info in Alt Text, more photos at open IG, linked shortly.
A dotted notepad held open with a Traveler’s Company brand brass clip. The main notepad has three swatched inks, (will be described in detail momentarily) with those ink bottles to the right of the notepad, along with the tools that were used to make the swatches (L-R Tachikawa wooden nib holder with pink silicone grip holding a tubular steel Kakimori nib; a clear with silver sparkles proprietary Sailor Hocoro Dipton nib holder with a yellow Fude nib; a grey standard Sailor Hocoro with the blue fine nib).

To the left is a wrapped (tiny) Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate: orange-red wrapped “milk chocolate”.

Everything is sitting on the Enigma Stationery Inkvent scratch off sheet that tells what the daily ink sample is. Day 15 is scratched off and says “Ferris Wheel Press Green with Curiosity”

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 15 which is Ferris Wheel Press Green with Curiosity which is a dumb name & means nothing, though the ink is incredible - it’s a deep foresty green with intense red sheen & light blue shimmer.

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Sleigh Ride (extreme sheen); a very similar ink to Day 11’s Grotto, but is just a darker base colour, bricky/rusty red with a deeper green/gold sheen.

Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Brinicles is a standard cool lighter sea blue. It’s honestly not the most interesting, but I know people will like it. It was a bit dry, no sheen & not much shading.
Door text is: “Brinicles is a color inspired by the cold, mysterious ice picks or salt pillars that form beneath sea ice.”

Inkventpocalypse Day 14 aka Enigma Stationery, Diamine, & Colorverse inkvent (plus a Tony’s tiny choco). Day 14 is two super sheeners & a sparkly minty something. Repeat choco.

To the left is a wrapped (tiny) Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate: yellow-green wrapped “dark almond sea salt”.

Everything is sitting on the Enigma Stationery Inkvent scratch off sheet that tells what the daily ink sample is. Day 14 is scratched off and says “Troublemaker Purple Yam”

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 14 which is Troublemaker Inks Purple Yam, a deep, dark purple with green sheen in the heavier areas. The ink has a dry flow and feels a little restricted even in dip nibs.

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Mint Twist (chameleon) a light, minty green with pink/yellow tones in the heavier areas, probably due to the chameleon shimmer which on paper is primarily blue/aqua, but in the bottle has some purple/pink notes, too. I wonder what kind of mint twist they were thinking of when naming this ink - candy or booze?

Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 This is a DENSELY pigmented sheening dark teal blue. It’s fairly sticky (had to take my nibs to the sink, not just swish in rinse water) to clear it out, but it’s beautiful. I’m not usually one for blue inks, but this one with the red-pink sheen is too lovely to hate. In the fine nib it is hard to tell from the Purple Yam, they’re both so dense.

At the bottom of the page is the social media info, titles in Purple Yam & the usernames in Pulsar Pulse:

Inkventpocalypse Day 13 aka Enigma Stationery, Diamine, & Colorverse inkvent (plus a Tony’s tiny choco). Day 13 is a deep denim, a very watery lilac & the deep bluey purple that elicited the “ooh”. Deets in alt text. (& IG for more pics & text, will link in reply when posted)

To the left is a wrapped (tiny) Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate: pink wrapped “white raspberry popping candy”.

Everything is sitting on the Enigma Stationery Inkvent scratch off sheet that tells what the daily ink sample is. Day 13 is scratched off and says “Franklin-Cristoph Philadelphia Pen Show 2020.”

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 13 “Franklin-Cristoph Philadelphia Pen Show 2020.” It’s a deep teal, indigo blue that shades in the writing, but not the large swatch. There is no sheen.

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Lullaby (standard) which is a watery lilac colour that (thankfully) doesn’t smell. It shades nicely in the large swatches, but the writing is hard to make out.

Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Neptune Occultation which is a deep purpley blue/bluey purple that is on the edge of sheening, but doesn’t. It is almost black in the written areas, but still reads as the deepest blurple. It was the one that elicited the “ooh” when swatching.

Unexpected bonus to community in our direct area: our neighbours took their kids to Disneyland & while they were gone, we picked up their packages. They just got back & brought us cute keychains as a surprise Thank You. I’ll never go to Disney myself, but appreciate the NBC rice krispy treat!

Inkventpocalypse Day 12 aka Enigma Stationery, Diamine, & Colorverse inkvent. Day 12 is two sporklemachines - one that is very seasonal, & an intriguing mustard that makes me hungry. No choco today, will explain with photos, links in threaded post. Deets in alt text. (& IG for more)
A dotted notepad held open with a Traveler’s Company brand brass clip (the plastic one was struggling with the chonk). Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Snow Globe (chameleon), a deep navy blue with shifting pink-blue-green shimmer, but the blue shimmer is what is mostly visible in my photos.

Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Sunbeam is a mustardy yellow with some greenish tinges in the heavier areas. It’s legible and very very mustardy. It is not quite a warm sunbeam yellow, but it is a very unusual ink colour.

Inkventpocalypse Day 7 (plus a Tony’s tiny choco). Day 7 is two immediate YES inks for me (a sheeny purple & a shimmery grey) plus the one head-scratcher, but it’s neat. Makes me think of @wellappointeddesk.bsky.social Deets in alt text. (& IG for more)
A dotted notepad held open with a small plastic clip with a Squirrel on it.

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Lemon & Lime (chameleon) which is nearly illegible, but a very juicy lime green with difficult-to-see blue shimmer & possibly some pink sparkles in there too.

Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Rover (glistening) which is a warm stoney grey with a LOT of silver shimmer, even in the finer lines.

Inkventpocalypse Day 6 aka Enigma Stationery, Diamine, & Colorverse inkvent (plus a Tony’s tiny choco). Day 6 is a LOT of colour: a complex multi-shader from Sailor, a juicy berry w/ green sheen & a deep blurple that is taxing my space blob doodleskills. Deets in alt text.

Inkventpocalypse Day 4 aka Enigma Stationery, Diamine, & Colorverse inkvent (plus a Tony’s tiny choco). Day 4 is two watery insipid Colorverse inks (warm pink, warm taupe) 1 of which has weird shading & then the dreaded stinky lipgloss-but-pretty-colour from Diamine. Deets in alt text.
A dotted notepad held open with a small plastic clip with a Squirrel on it. The main notepad has three swatched inks, one of which is on a separate swatch card (will be described in detail momentarily) with those ink bottles to the right of the notepad, along with the tools that were used to make the swatches (L-R a no-name pink painted wooden nib holder with a pointed Leonardt 30 pen nib; Tachikawa wooden nib holder with pink silicone grip holding a tubular steel Kakimori nib; a clear with silver sparkles proprietary Sailor Hocoro Dipton nib holder with a yellow Fude nib; a grey standard Sailor Hocoro with the blue fine nib).

To the left is a wrapped (tiny) Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate in a lime green wrapper “dark almond sea salt”.

Everything is sitting on the Enigma Stationery Inkvent scratch off sheet that tells what the daily ink sample is. Day 4 is scratched off and says “Colorverse Project 030 ⍺ Sgr”.

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 4 “Colorverse Project No. 030 ⍺SGR (sagittarius) a very desaturated strange taupey pink ink with blue-grey parts in the swatch.
Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Forest Gateau (scented). It’s on a separate swatch card because scented inks are the devil. This ink is pretty enough, aside from the lipgloss scent that made me cough. It’s a purpley burgundy ink with no shading, but is much darker in the written sample (done with the pointed nib) and it took ages to dry.
Bottom Ink is a watery, shading warm grey-brown Colorverse Colorvent 2024 called Sailing Stones. This ink is not as dark in writing like the one for Day 3 was. It was even lighter and more desaturated.
At the bottom of the page is the social media info, titles in Colorverse ⍺SGR & the usernames in the Colorverse Sailing Stones (neither are particularly legible):

Inkventpocalypse Day 3 aka Enigma Stationery, Diamine, & Colorverse Inkvents Day 3 (plus a Tony’s tiny choco). Two greens - one REALLY COOL green that starts out teal, one crayola grass green w/silver shimmer & a surprisingly legible desaturated grey. Deets in alt text.
A dotted notepad with three swatched inks (will be described in detail momentarily)

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 3 “Guitar Gentle Green” (the full title is “Teranishi Guitar Taisho Roman Hikara Gentle Green” which is a REALLY WEIRD green ink. It starts off as a dark teal blue when wet, then dries to a deep foresty green that shades with red sheening around the edges.

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Noble Fir (star bright) which is a yellow-ish leaning almost true green with dense, heavy silver shimmer. It has some shading, but the silver shimmer takes over the swatches and writing. Very festive!

Bottom Ink is a very very watery, shading neutral to cool grey Colorverse Colorvent 2024 called Moonlit Veil. There is no shimmer and it is an odd odd ink. The swatch seemed to be almost fully unsaturated, like a slightly tinged water, but the writing isn’t as pale as one would expect with a desaturated ink like this. The box door blurb from Colorverse said “Moonlit Veil is a color inspired by the moment when the moonlight softly illuminates a dark night.” Which means a lot of nothing, thanks.

The water is also blue, but the ink is drying a pine-y foresty green. Inkvent day 2 from Enigma Stationery, Diamine Inkvent & Colorverse. These fountain pen inks were kinda meh, but only because they were all standard inks. The Bungubox Lycoris Red is a pink-leaning red, thinner than Colorverse's Supergiant from Day 1.
An open dotted notepad with three swatched inks (will be described in detail momentarily) with those ink bottles to the right of the notepad, along with the tools that were used to make the swatches. To the left is a wrapped tiny Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate in a navy wrapper “dark milk chocolate pretzel toffee”. Everything is sitting on the Enigma Stationery Inkvent scratch off sheet that tells what the daily ink sample is. Day 2 is scratched off and says “Bungubox Lycoris Red”.

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 2 “Bungubox Lycoris Red” which is a pink/orange leaning red, it is a thin consistency, no shading, that shows the dots of the paper beneath.
Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Wilted Rose (standard), a dirty melted chocolate pink brown colour that is also very thin and watery. It is less saturated than the Lycoris Red, however, and has minimal shading. It makes me think of 1980’s taupey mauve browns.
Bottom Ink is a flat watery indigo blue from Colorverse Colorvent 2024 called Edge of Night. There is no shimmer and it is an odd blue. It looks like it might have some pink around the edges, but is more of a navy/indigo, but is also watery seeming.

Okay, so here's unedited Inkvent Day 1, will be evolving, but I wanted to get something up. I have Enigmavent Set B which started w/ Vinta Palaisipan (tagalog for puzzle or enigma) 2023, Diamine Baltic Breeze (not bad) & Colorverse Supergiant (no shimmer). Alt text covers img.
An open dotted notepad with three swatched inks (will be described in detail momentarily) with those ink bottles to the right of the notepad. To the left is a wrapped tiny Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate in an orange wrapper that is Sea Salt Caramel. Everything is sitting on the Enigma Stationery Inkvent scratch off sheet that tells what the daily ink sample is. Day 1 is scratched off and says “Vinta Palaisipan (Enigma) 2023”.

The ink swatches, top to bottom are Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 set B Day 1 Vinta Palaisipan (Enigma) 2023, a light teal/aqua sea blue with matching blue shimmer. The shimmer is not dense, but does show up in certain angles.
Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Baltic Breeze, a light lavender/blurple with copper shimmer. The shimmer in this ink is very heavy and shows up in most angles.
Bottom Ink is a flat red from Colorverse Colorvent 2024 called Supergiant. There is no shimmer and it is a warm, not pink red that is very seasonal.

Okay, I got the new Enigmavent / Enigma Stationery Advent set up & the layout of my tools ready for tomorrow. More info in alt text (a LOT more) & I can explain more if there are questions. Are we ready for Inkventpocalypse 2024?! Waiting to tag things properly so blocks/mutes won’t hide this.
Ink swatching setup on a dark desk for the Inkventpocalypse 2024.
Top is an Apple keyboard in the background.
L-R items laid out:
The Notepad for the swatches (NEBULA x COLORVERSE Kingdom Series Notepad; this will be inkvent year 3 for this notepad.) with example layouts of last year’s swatches on it. It’s held open with either a brass Traveller’s Company clip or a small plastic eric small things clip with a squirrel on it.
To the right, top to bottom are a col-o-ring ink testing book (I use these when there are scented inks that must be quarantined); a little pink vinyl nahe pouch that fits my swatching nibs; 2 plastic baggies with brass folded nibs from Toronto Pen Company. (One 3-in-1 nib & one sabre nib)
Next column is folded clothlike papertowels under a water glass (empty). Below that are 3 loose dip nibs - L-R are a Leonardt 30 pointed pen for the scented inks, a light blue snap in nib for the Sailor Dipton holders that is a M nib with a plastic feed & a 1.0MM green snap in nib with a plastic feed.
Last in the ink swatching lineup is three dip pen handles with nibs in them. Two Sailor Dipton handles (one grey, one sparkly clear). The grey one has a fude (bent) nib with feed & the clear one has an F nib. They’re interchangeable & easily rinsable.

The last holder & nib is the backbone of the operation: it’s a wooden handle with pink squishy grip, a Tachikawa holder with a grey rubber insert. This is holding a tubular steel nib with fluting by Kamimori. The stack of doom. I mean inkvent 2024

Or Inkventpocalypse 2024.

There is a side view of a stack of festive ink sample boxes (Colorverse Colorvent on the bottom, Diamine Inkvent Black on top) with a scratch off sheet & the Enigma Stationery Inkvent 2024 (Set B) in the OG 2022 silver nib holder & this year’s samples in it. Behind the stack is a Tony’s Chocolonely Countdown Calendar which is absurdly huge.

I got a reallllly pre, pre-order (like, so preorder I had 100% forgotten about it months ago) from Cute Things From Japan (Ayako aiii) finally & I’m just exclaiming over all the cute things (it is in the name!) How am I supposed to unwrap and eat THIS ADORABLE CHOCO?? IT IS TOO FUCKIN’ CUTE.
A plastic square wrapped around a small tablet of chocolate that has the cutest label ever. The packaging is done by eric small things of Japan, a stamp cut artist. The design is of a perforated stamp with a blue background, tiny snowflakes, two stacked books reading “diary” and “sketch book” atop which a small santa-hat wearing squirrel is holding a small package. There is a small black shooting star and the words in red & green “Happy holidays!” At the top of the stamp.

There is also a tiny round brown sticker on the packaging that is of a very chubby reindeer with a slightly smiling but neutral expression. It’s ears & antlers are tiny. It is also too cute.

How the fuu does eric manage to jam so many things in one 2cm square chocolate wrapper label? It is TOO CUTE. I cannot eat this.
