After taking months off, I finally finished Danse Macabre. That was the most boring Anita Blake book from the series so far. I finished Harlequin in a day and now on book 16. FINALLY some Jason backstory! If you’re reading the series, pretend macabre doesn’t exist or just mentally prep yourselves.

That was the most depraved book I’ve ever read. I’m ok with shock, gore, etc, but there’s a line I don’t even cross and “Dead Inside” didn’t even give a warning about it. Read if you’re curious, but mentally prepare by researching themes. It’s horrid. Had to put it down. #booksky #extremehorror

Saw the Odyssey movie. It was alright. Biggest complaints was such a familiar cast of celebrities and the modernity of it. Some scenes rushed (calypso in particular) Sound mixing was…Why write lines when the music is overpowering them? I needed subtitles because it was bad bad. #TheOdysseyMovie

Although its a bit too fast paced for my taste and left me begging for more detailing, I didn't mind the story. LOVED the gargoyle. I laughed so many times with his ridiculousness. Second book comes out in September. Romance, medieval, magic...might be up someone's alley. #booksky

I haven't been reading as much because I got a Switch 2 and playing a ton of Pokopia, but I did finish Weavingshaw which is supposed to be a trilogy from what I read. If you like a slow burn romance and the paranormal, you may enjoy this. It was an entertaining short read. #booksky

Note to self: Do some research before starting a series. Reading “One Last Rainy Day” first was a huge mistake. On kindle unlimited, it says it’s 1 of 4 so I dove right in. I basically got the cliffsnotes of the first three books because it’s a POV of one of the main characters. 🤦🏻‍♀️ #Ravenhood

Everything up to Obsidian Butterfly was fun, but now I’m struggling to continue this series. Loved Anita Blake when I was in HS and wanted to reread and catch up, but I’m afraid it’ll only get worse. Blake’s character development was so strange to me then and still is. #booksky 🤞🏻 it gets better.

Legs still looking like SlimJims, but those delts are coming in. 😮‍💨 Hip fracture is healing nicely too. I can run 2 miles at least without pain. Only issue is that my mile time is only 9 min and upping the speed gets me relying on my cane more than I’d like to admit. Take it easy? Who, me? #Gym
