Greg Holkan @inkbrush.bsky.social · 30/09/2026To be fair, I’m more from flat plains Oklahoma and there were plenty of cockfights there. (McClain County, about 20 minutes from Norman) I’m definitely not from the part of Oklahoma that’s nearly indistinguishable from West Texas. 010
Greg Holkan @inkbrush.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I can’t do anything about someone else’s feelings, all I can do is interrogate my own. The idea I might treat someone this way horrifies me. 011
Greg Holkan @inkbrush.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I think a lot about this. I don’t know that contempt is constructive or useful, and I know it can make it impossible to accomplish anything when one or more parties in a situation is feeling it. www.huffpost.com/entry/this-o...huffpost.comThis One Thing is the Biggest Predictor of DivorceThis One Thing is the Biggest Predictor of Divorce 110

Greg Holkan @inkbrush.bsky.social · 14/09/2026I keep hearing people talk about how AI slop happens because of a need for more content. I think we don’t talk enough about how AI slop scratches the itch for *cheap* content. The second it gets to be as costly as a human most people stop paying for or using AI. 100

Greg Holkan @inkbrush.bsky.social · 07/09/2026So they’ve had to goose their predictions every quarter to appease increasingly skeptical investors, and they’re already claiming they found the golden goose. Greg Holkan @inkbrush.bsky.social · 27/08/2026I’m getting sick of media putting words like “misappropriated” in quotes. Like, this wouldn’t be defamation, that is literally what the grand jury found, right? Putting it in quotes makes it seem like the outlet is questioning the validity of the finding. 020

Greg Holkan @inkbrush.bsky.social · 31/07/2026No, I don’t think they are breaking the law necessarily. I’m from a small town, and if you don’t endorse a view quick enough, or you disagree on something, or you look a certain way, they figure it out. Greg Holkan @inkbrush.bsky.social · 25/07/2026I feel like we would all be better off if personal fortunes were capped at like $100 million. That’s still an obscene amount of wealth, but it’s less likely to make it possible for one person to alter the course of human history just by buying politicians. 021
Greg Holkan @inkbrush.bsky.social · 24/07/2026To wrap up, Masters of the Universe may be someone’s favorite movie, somewhere. No shame in that. It was fine. If this represents the decline in quality as Mattel continues to adapt its toys into movies though, the next project is in trouble. Barbie was transcendent, and this was fine. /5 000
Greg Holkan @inkbrush.bsky.social · 24/07/2026Lots and lots of fan service. Not the most egregious examples, but still noticeable. Which, fine. The tone can swing quite a bit, with some people understanding what movie they’re in and others doing something else entirely. Overall, a fairly pleasant mess. Not mind blowing, not awful. /4 100
Greg Holkan @inkbrush.bsky.social · 24/07/2026Jared Leto was fine as Skeletor. I thought some of the choices were weird. Like why the weird Transatlantic accent? I get that they didn’t want to do the nasal, whiny voice from the cartoon, but the choice kept striking me as odd. /3 100
Greg Holkan @inkbrush.bsky.social · 24/07/2026Galitzine was fine as Adam. Given weird material to work with, but fine. Camila Mendes was fine as Teela, but I have to say that the blue contacts were distracting. Morena Baccarin sure was on screen as the Sorceress. Yep. Alison Brie wasn’t given much to do, but she seemed to be having fun. /2 100
Greg Holkan @inkbrush.bsky.social · 24/07/2026Watched Masters of the Universe now that it’s streaming on Amazon and I don’t have to pay for it. Let me start by saying it was fine. Not amazing, fine.
