best part of this is the "polling" survey I answered that was nakedly attempting to support prop 42 (which is a direct challenge to prop 40) when i indicated i didn't support it, the next question was like "are you SUUUURE you don't want to protect your assets?" 😂 ballotpedia.org/California_P...

I can't decide if this is Slack, Salesforce, or Gmail and unfortunately I think the answer is YES. the only way out of this is personal software.

hard to say, I remember both equally but if I recall correctly, I learned it by watching you was first. I think the cast iron pan fried egg came later but idk. I remember wanting that drug box the kid had.

The bombing of an Iranian school, killing 120 children, is one of the worst U.S. war crimes since Vietnam. Drop Site spoke to survivors, first responders, parents, and witnesses. This is their story.

It didn't take me very long to find these, also to find the Chi Phi website change history in archive.org in the following weeks after this incident, changing out all the images of the chapter members. That fraternity immediately covered their tracks.

they have pretty successfully, some of them at least, at scrubbing their internet histories of this stain. Those efforts are not perfect, however. See Diego's attempt at moving to Bates and now Johns Hopkins (until 2028, Masters). Think those institutions are aware? (WI job post telling on him)

this time I accept the message of this being the most important one might actually be true, which, in my mind, means that peoples concerns are MORE important not less. no one is ever swayed by the "no time to discuss what's important to you, just vote baby" and they should stop saying it, forever.

if you come up with some way to reach even half (more ideally 75%) of the functions 1PW gives, even if multiple tools. I'll take the leap (Service Accounts, SSH agent, CI secrets, environments with vaults across all of it, is so deeply integrated across all my projects i'm not sure what to do....

(northeast salt is a bitch, and it spent the last 15 yrs. in Seattle). But that straight-6 NEVER quit. that car rotted around that glorious engine and it hit 425,000 miles before the rot became unfixable. That engine is bullet proof if you give it some love (and somewhat even if you don't)

Oh wow you found one! I drove a 1993 5 speed Cherokee from 1999 to 2005, handed it down to my brother, who drove it until 4 years ago. They had to weld new floorboards onto the drivers and passenger sides to change out the seats. at least 15 U-joints, every wheel bearing 5x over replaced

Starting to see some parallels/rhymes to Hoover’s time and I don’t like it. I’m not going to say WWII* has started. But I’m really upset at all the ways the trajectory we’re on seems similar to that run up. If it’s true do we get a new great society out of it?

I understand the joke but that guy is a Harvard-trained computational biology PhD. I question very seriously that this was "prompt engineered" drug-design. Harvard and MIT have some truly amazing computational chemistry tools underpinned by targeted deep neural network models (not LLMs)

IDK. that thought needs more thinking to form. but regardless, this is why AI can't be in schools. at least not in it's current free-form instructing an agent to do things. it's removing the learning loop completely if used in that manner. professionals also need to think carefully about

Autodidacts Anonymous @inittowinit.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
I don't need to learn something, i just need it to happen, there was plenty of deterministic hand written code that did those things before, agents can do those. But. most of my daily effort, should be making mistakes and recovering. perhaps that output could be observed by an agent and leveraged.

Autodidacts Anonymous @inittowinit.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
that loop is the learning. Learning doesn't occur at all in humans without it. my understanding of machine learning internals has gone up dramatically. my coding and architecture abilities that i've leveraged agents to do has stayed flat to slightly down. there are times, for certain, when

After a couple years of using ai agents, while simultaneously learning machine learning (linear algebra, the coding, all of it) I think I'm starting to hone in on why using agents results in skill atrophy. when learning in a manual way, you make a mistake, you hit a wall, you push through.
