The grind at the end sucks in this one, no matter which character you are. It's been a while but I remember a few points on various paths where grinding was pretty much a requirement.

If ever there was a game screaming for a remake, it's PS3. Imagine it with an updated graphical style aligning it with the rest of the games in the series, improved enemy animation, tweaked magic system, added visual variety to the worlds and dungeons, and maybe some more story added in.

Genesis DD is a little better but has its own unique problems. It looks close to the arcade, but the speed is all screwed up, the sound and music are awful, the gameplay is sloppy and it's missing a lot of elements from the arcade version (kicking oil drums and crates for one).

Haven't played this version yet, not sure I ever will since I think DQ7 and its weird episodic format makes it the worst in the series by a mile. I did play through and finish it on both PS1 and 3DS when those versions were new.

Ha, yeah, I always thought it was dumb you had to do that to enable continues in the last level. Honestly, not a great playing version of DD anyway, just middling with all of its weird issues. On the flipside, I got mine free when Sega did a promotion back in the day 😁

Yes, he is absolutely wrong. It'd only need 4 or 5 games if an inordinate amount of unnecessary garbage is added to the game. Do it in HD-2D and just sell it yet again. Octopath 0 is 130+ hours if you do everything and amazingly is somehow just one game. Same for the Xenoblade series.

I didn't talk about any specific solution, just that 'parents doing their job' is not in any way, shape, or form a solution. I don't know what the answer is right now. But you can't look at the last ten years and say it hasn't been a blight on society. Something needs to change.

As a parent and a teacher, that's a naive take. Kids have exposure to many things and you can teach them what's right and wrong, but in the end they do their own thing. I've seen good kids who watch trash on socials because their friends do. Shocked a teen a while back by telling how awful Tate is.

Neither of those put an item on the shelf. I get games from both, so not knocking them. But if people are that upset physical is going away, they should stop buying. That will send a clearer message. I'd also love to see the PSN accounts of the whiners. Bet they have plenty of downloaded games.

This whole situation on the internet is trying my patience. People threaten to switch to PC, where basically all games are digital only. Then suddenly they rationalize by saying PC has multiple storefronts and competition! Great. Does that put an item on the shelf? And I prefer and buy disc games.

Small update on the Megadrive *rally game* ? I added sprites and did some optimization so CPU is still at 70% usage with a stable 60 fps. I'm a bit disappointed by the sprite width limit per-line. I wanted a lot more dense vegetation but it's not possible with sprites. I'll try other methods.

That's the thing. There is so much bad in every facet of that movie we can all find something to hate about it. But srsly. It stinx. Aside from being more than a bit rapey, Gal Gadot gives an all time terrible performance for the ages. The story is beyond stupid. Direction is awful.
