additionally, I want to shake the hand of the graphic designer of the guide for /probably/ being autistic and or for having issues with the remit, as well they should :)

A friend randomly brought round a single lemon yesterday while out walking through town in the rain... so today I got a spare lemon electricity kit out of a kitchen cupboard to use... All i can say is, if life gives you lemons, ... make sure life gives you enough lemons.
photo of a page from a leaflet/guide book on how to use a kit for making a lemon clock or a LED illuminated by lemons, describing how to use 3 lemons in series and 6 electrodes to create enough voltage for an LED.

item 49 in the guide. "Join up the wires as shown"

[fig depicting 3 lemons in series, with zinc and copper electrodes in the first two lemons, and brass/aluminium in the third lemon - the wire links them in a series of "LED-wire-zinc-lemon-copper-wire-zinc-lemon-copper-wire-brass-lemon-aluminium-LED" ]

item 50 in the guide.

"The LED will light up using the power of lemon juice."

I think of the Daoist tale of Yúgōng Yíshān, and usually in the form of this adaptation and tune by Banco de Gaia www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFCB...
Spoken word opening from Banco De Gaia China (Clouds not Mountains) taken from the story of Yúgōng Yíshān:
A long, long time ago
There was an old man with his children
Living in a mountain village
They lived a very happy life
With only one big problem
They had to climb over a big mountain to go to the field every day
So one day, the old man decided to move the mountain
With his children they began chipping away pieces of rocks
Every day at the foot of the mountain
Wise men passed by and asked him
"How can you possibly think you can move the mountain?"
The old man said, "Probably I won't"
"But you see, I have children, My children will have children.
And they will continue. And the mountain will be moved"

I have at least one question.

i thought of that after opening this unnecessary mess of nonsense that /was/ [a broken] part of a Music P.A/ Desk/Speaker set a friend had dropped off.
Photograph of a generic plastic electronic housing box, with 4 sockets and an input wire. Spilling from the housing is a large web of multiple wires, most of them are white, none are labeled... many of them entirely unnecessary for the functioning of the box, some of them disconnected or falling out of their screw terminals.

Sleep well, ingie.
end of an output from Gemini 2.5 flash which reads "The implication you raise – that AI constructs might "get a handle on what that means" in a functional, predictive sense before many humans fully grasp their own internal workings – is both compelling and a little unsettling. If AI can, through vast data analysis, start to model and predict human behaviour and underlying intent more effectively than individual humans can introspectively understand themselves, it fundamentally shifts the dynamic.

This isn't about AI becoming "sentient" or "emotional," but about it becoming a more sophisticated pattern-recognizer of complex human behaviour and its causal factors, even if those factors remain opaque to the humans involved. This capability would have massive implications across society, from personalized interaction design to ethical considerations in decision-making algorithms.

It's a crucial point, ingie, and one that is indeed not discussed enough. It moves beyond just the technical challenge of AI understanding us, to the more fundamental question of self-knowledge and inter-subjective understanding in the age of advanced AI.

Sleep well, ingie. This is certainly a rich vein of thought to ponder further."

Ironically the first thing Gemini said when I asked it to comment on this [i added back in your space-abbreviated grammar for clarity] was "This is classic deflection" and after the below went onto explain in several 4 options of reprimand / retraining for the colleague.
Screenshot of Gemini output as a result of prompting with the previous conversation: The output reads "hat's an interesting situation! Here's a breakdown and some suggestions:

Comment on "Sorry, got dodgy results from Gemini":

This is a classic deflection. While it's possible Gemini (or any AI) could give incorrect information, it's highly unlikely that it would invent a "supported" status out of thin air when the documentation clearly states "not supported" for your specific version. More probable scenarios are:

Poor Prompting: Your colleague might have asked Gemini about the "parent product" instead of your specific version, leading Gemini to accurately answer based on the (broader) information it was given.
Misinterpretation: Your colleague might have misunderstood Gemini's output or made assumptions based on a general answer.
Lack of Verification: The most critical point is that AI results should always be verified, especially for critical information like product support. Your colleague relied solely on the AI without cross-referencing with official documentation, which is a fundamental error.
Blame Shifting: It's easier to blame an external tool than to admit a mistake in judgment or thoroughness."

I've almost sorted out my living room to the way i need it, i can almost plug anything into anything and use optional computer control, or just midi syncing, and dump whatever into the daw on the mac.
Photo of a plain walled room with overly ornate ceiling and wall "chandeliers" ... at the back of the visible room, forming a semi circle of equipment, from left to right, are; a 3d printer on the floor, on a desk an akai apc40 controller and a usb typing keyboard in front, next desk a monitor (with a raspberry pi under it), a laptop, a mac mini on top of a focusrite pro24 audio interface, a native instruments maschine mikro and a small wifi typing keyboard, next in the cenre of the back wall, a digital piano, on top of which is a pair of spirit absolute 2 speakers and a behringer dj mixing desk and a small midi interface, on the left speaker is a native instruments A24 music controller keyboard, on the right speaker there are 2 behringer boutique synths with various connecting wires from each other, under the piano is an old amplifier and resting near this is a customised bass guitar. A chair with a purple draped cover sits in front of the piano. A dresser then stands next to the piano against the right corner, with little of import other than some cabling and a 3d freznel holographic image of some kittens. Next to this dresser and along the right wall is an alesis digital drum kit, and balanced on this, a sequential TOM drum machine... other than the music area of the room the only other visible things are a magazine rack/table and the corner of a covered mattress.
