You can add edge lights using the new auto selection tools to mask the subject as a base and then use intersect mode to manually paint in the edge areas without painting outside the base subject mask.

You can create a light ray using a large radial gradient as a base and subtracting with linear gradients or brush strokes to define the borders. You can also subtract a luminosity mask to preserve existing highlights.

Sharing a few secret cosplay photography FX presets I made in Capture One but you could easily recreate them in Lightroom too. Making them a preset helps me auto-generate the layer structure each time with a single click.

As an artist sometimes I think I'm just
making fun silly little pictures but I do think
now more than ever we can all use more
that fantasy and escape and joy in our lives.

I made flash cards for how I direct scenes for cosplay photography to help guide posing for story. I try to capture the before or after action vs mid/primary action since this best represents the motion through anticipation or follow-through which is also use in animation.

I created a fun analogy for picking color palettes. The further you stretch to reach colors on the wheel the more stress you introduce. You can start anywhere on the wheel and it will still feel relatively normal until you pull too far in too many directions without dialing the saturation down.
