Créé de l’autre côté de la Manche par des Anglais et une Anglaise, vous y retrouverez plein de photographes de Bluesky (et même moi). Une belle aventure ! Enjoy ! Take a free ride ! 7265
Peter Barnes @infinite8horizon.com · 17/09/2026who's apparently blithely oblivious to the obvious jokes about his name, something Idle no doubt endured. I'm sure there are many examples, and some are no doubt coincidence also... 111
Peter Barnes @infinite8horizon.com · 17/09/2026I'm sure the effect is real, but obviously the mechanism is in the individual, not pre-ordained. Some people will no doubt be influenced, consciously or unconsciously, and some immune. There's Eric Idle, (Monty Python) who wrote a sketch about a man called Smoketoomuch / 110
Peter Barnes @infinite8horizon.com · 17/09/2026I did quite a lot of film photography in my 20s and 30s, then family life reduced that to mostly family and holidays. I waited a long time for DSLR tech, then moved all my Nikon kit to digital & with retirement restarted as a serious hobby. Now I shoot OM system for weight, stabilisation & reach... 000
Peter Barnes @infinite8horizon.com · 17/09/2026I'm in Brisbane, now. I've been here a while, with a few years on the Sunshine Coast in between. I've done some bird and landscape photography in the NT as well, visiting my son and his family. My parents gave me a film rangefinder camera when I was 12 to document a year overseas, manual, no meter. 100
Peter Barnes @infinite8horizon.com · 17/09/2026🙏 Thank you, again! Yes, they give me a lot of pleasure (and a measure of frustration from time to time 😊) 000
Peter Barnes @infinite8horizon.com · 17/09/2026No, I'm hopeless these days, impossibly sensitive. As a kid and teen I used to be barefoot a lot and could deal with many surfaces, but now the tiniest thing has me hopping... Mercifully the Lego days are long behind me 🤣 120
Peter Barnes @infinite8horizon.com · 17/09/2026😬 Impossible, unless you went barefoot all the time... even then, probably. I didn't attempt it! 120
Peter Barnes @infinite8horizon.com · 17/09/2026Yes... It was an amazingly dense shoreline, you don't find that often on more populated beaches. If I'd brought my hiking clothes I'd have been sprawled on the sand, but I travelled light. Next time! 120
Peter Barnes @infinite8horizon.com · 17/09/2026🤣 I blame continental drift... It's still only an hour or so from Brisbane, but now the first leg is a bit longer 😊. There *are* islands in the bay, as well, but I suspect not as nice as yours. It's a rain-check, then until one of us next swaps hemispheres 😊 120
Peter Barnes @infinite8horizon.com · 16/09/2026😄 I'll let Ric know! I thought you were somewhere in Canadia... Yes, the Sunny coast is a lovely area, I was in Sunshine Beach for a time and then in the hinterland, I love it. Just an hour or so 🙏 120
Peter Barnes @infinite8horizon.com · 16/09/2026😊 It's a special music, isn't it ☺️ You're very welcome, the prosecco's in the fridge, but we'll have to rendezvous 😄—that's a friend's back yard when I stayed a few days, not mine alas. He's still on the Sunshine Coast while I returned, regretfully, to Brisbane. I'll put him on notice 😊. 120
Peter Barnes @infinite8horizon.com · 16/09/2026🙏 Thanks, IG 🙏 Happy to share it 🫶 The soft music of clinking shells is lovely too, when the tide moves them gently. 120
Peter Barnes @infinite8horizon.com · 16/09/2026🙏 Thanks, Alina 🙏 Yes, the contrasts really appealed... Glad you find the beauty... It's an interesting subject that works at several scales, but you can only choose one per photo 😁. The shells are a wonderful miniature landscape as well. 120
Peter Barnes @infinite8horizon.com · 16/09/2026😊🙏... Glad *someone* noticed 😇 It's like Sapir-Whorf, beguiling yet possibly just wishful thinking. 110
Peter Barnes @infinite8horizon.com · 16/09/2026🙏❤️🙏 Thank you, Jaycee, and for the multitudinous reposts 😮, you're very kind 🙏🙏🙏 010
