I laughed at the one guy who posted this way too long clip of “Babyface” hits as like his ace in the hole instead it had the opposite effect. 8 songs in I was like damn his catalog is more mediocre than I remember!

Sumrall’s ability to inspire players goes beyond being a good motivator. It gives him a buy-in that, these days, can be harder to get when rosters fluctuate so much and players come and go more than ever before. Sumrall’s teams play with an edge and a physicality one might expect from a former SEC middle linebacker. His mantra: Coach ‘em hard. Love ‘em hard to become their best, and challenge them daily.

Sumrall says one of the most misguided things he hears is the lament that “kids have changed.”

He disagrees.

The good players, he believes, still want to be coached. The difference is that kids may wonder if they can trust this person because now they probably have less people they think they can trust.

“When you’re relationship-driven, and guys know that you genuinely care about their well-being and their growth, you build a rapport that allows you to coach them however you need to,” Sumrall said. “Then, you have their trust.”

Sure I think they felt the drop off to Browning was so much at what he cost, it made more financial sense to take the kid on a UDFA contract / hope Baker stays healthy and use some of that money for Vea/Baker extensions. Team is going no where; I like going UDFA with upside vs bum vet backup.

He really impressed the team in camp and preseason & Browning looked awful. Who knows if he’ll have any real staying power but the word around the organization was they really like his live arm and ability to move on the pocket when the play breaks down.

That was my biggest takeaway. WOW some of those people are huge assholes; which all groups have to deal with. It’s shitty the right wing grifters will use it for their own agenda but as many pointed out they didn’t need a news article to do what they are already doing.
