Engineering wasn’t imagined for women in the early 1900s. Still, Edith Clarke became the first woman electrical engineer and created tools that helped engineers understand modern power systems. ⚡ Stories like hers matter. Her legacy still echoes in the work we do at #INESCTEC.

She was the first woman to become a full professor of Chemistry in Portugal. She was mentored by Marie Curie. Her name was Branca Marques. We’re telling her story because forgetting women like Branca was never accidental. And remembering them is about who gets to imagine themselves in science now.
