Overall, a nice warm-up for our own No Kings Vote Early Vote rally next Saturday, October 17, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Courthouse Park. If you missed last night and want to feel the kind of solidarity that only these events bring, see you there!

What a great night in Syracuse! Around 2,500 people rallying and marching in response to 47’s malevolent presence. And Cortland County was well-represented, including Colleen Kattau, who led the crowd! Impossible to describe just how good these rallies make you feel, the energy was incredible.

CNY's top Republicans will skip Trump's rally. Most said they're too busy with family, campaigns, work or the local apple festival.

Back in Oct 2024, Cornell banned four students (including the President of the Jewish Voice for Peace, a student organization) for three years for nonviolent, pro-Palestine protests. Later that night the Cornell 7 drugged and raped Jane Doe. Their punishment by this same tribunal? Apology essays.

Over 2,000 people from Tompkins County contributed to the piece, each writing a concern for America on a red ribbon. In a short documentary, DemocracyDefenderPMB talks about the project's origins, how American history informs it, and her wish that it be a vehicle for building community.

This is a sexist and chauvinistic attack by an elderly white man who is used to having his own way in everything. Blakeman is utterly unfit to lead New York State. This coming week he will be campaigning with Trump who is mentioned in the Epstein files 38,000 times. He finds nothing wrong with that.

The MAGA candidates, from Bruce Blakeman on down to dog catcher, are having a rally the next day (Oct 10) in Cortland on the County Courthouse steps. The press should be asking why they didn't speak up about the Cornell 7 (or 57) and why an investigation of elite males didn't become a prosecution.

The weaponization of the DOE and, specifically, Title IX, is just one more example of how Trump is doing all he can to force his twisted world view regarding “gender ideology extremism” (his own words) on the laws of our land. And, in this case, our children.

Indivisible Cortland County @indivisiblecortcty.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
And while the 2020 rules did not definitively address the participation of transgender female athletes on girls’ and women’s teams, Trump’s DOE has argued that Title IX “requires” that such participation be excluded.

Indivisible Cortland County @indivisiblecortcty.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
In their place, at the explicit direction of the Trump White House, the DOE reinstated 2020 regulations from Trump’s first administration. These rules, in addition to making LGBTQ+ students less safe, also added more due-process protections for students accused of sexual harassment. Think Cornell.
