Yesterday it was demoing sidewalks, repointing brick windowsills and walls. And an initial pass sanding 100 grit on the unfinished cedar 2x4s. Those were beefy.

Today in unemployed land i couldn’t provide labor for a mason due to rain, so worked on cutting some cedar lumber for nesting sauna benches, rotary and belt sanding, then profile routing.

Dolly Parton was a huge part of my life, the lives of my sister, mother and father, of my wife, and our two kids, and in fact, kids all over the southeast United States, let alone all the people we never heard about because she didn’t brag about her charity. She’ll be sorely missed. #dolly

For instance, I’m excited about Beck’s upcoming release “Ride Lonesome” and new ones from Weezer and Interpol. I really enjoyed new vinyl of older music: Pink Floyd live at Pompeii. It’s important to see and celebrate the little things that bring joy when there’s so much pain and stress.

One unexpected benefit has been a little bit more opportunity to listen to music, so I’ve been enjoying our vinyl collection as well as standing on top of new releases. Apple Music as a family subscription is one of the few subs that remains intact.

Executive function is an umbrella term that wraps several key elements. In this particular phase of my existence: prioritization and execution come to mind. Simply picking a focus on can be incredibly difficult in high stress contexts, and unemployment in post collapse America is that for sure.

On the other hand, there’s the entrepreneurial efforts to continue, which initially was envisioning and building brand and content for a couple different businesses - and now looks like figuring out marketing/business development. Then there’s the W-2 job search, which on the surface is simple.
