trying to be better about journaling regularly; this week that manifests as documenting my (delayed) reality fracture prerelease last weekend. many Jaces were empowered and much fun was had.

late to it but lemme hop on the trend. ask me tomorrow and the list will be different, but I'm pretty sure 99% of narrative or design decisions in my games(and the desire to make games at all) stems from something I enjoyed about these nine:

sidenote but I'm genuinely baffled at how one specific reviewer whose takes I usually love said the open world felt empty. I found this easter egg while searching for an item for a sidequest I also randomly stumbled upon, the game clearly rewards you for exploring.

ok so control resonant absolutely has the juice! combat feels tough but fair; the amount of keywords thrown at you is pretty overwhelming but since they only seem to kick in with later upgrades in the trees it's not too much of a headache for now.

finished RE6 last night. sitting on some very complex feelings; it wasn't good but I thoroughly enjoyed it. will need to do a longer writeup at some point. for now, my main takeaway is this:

A meme that says "If you're ever sad, just remember the world is 4.543 billion years old and you somehow managed to exist at the same time as Aeon (the fandom name for the relationship between Resident Evil characters Leon and Ada)." Next to the text are many images of Leon and Ada in the games, and of merchandise of the two.

fighting the urge to keep working on the rendering on the cover. the game is a work in progress and so I guess it's fitting for much of the art to also be.

spent an evening organizing my music files and making some offline versions of the playlists I've got on spotify. nostalgia over customizing music player skins and making playlist covers and all that good stuff hit like a goddamn truck.
