But, thankfully, they do have granular difficulty settings that allow me to change only my outgoing damage so that I don't gotta spam attack so much. I do wish there was a "hold down attack to keep attacking as long as you hold the button" option so I could play normal style, but. This is playable!

Very grateful that accessibility options are becoming more common. As much as I do genuinely enjoy the default difficulty of Control Resonant's combat, I physically cannot be mashing my attack key like that. Played too much and put myself out for a whole WEEK-long pain spike.

Really appreciating how unabashedly weird Control Resonant is A lot of the new Hiss enemies look straight out of a Dan Peacock painting it's crazyyyy to see that particular kind of bizarre body horror in a big budget AAA title And I am eating it all up with a very big spoon. Perhaps two.

Always fun drawing off photo ref I took, only to find that part of the pose looks insane and wrong when drawn. Like there's a difference between reality and our brain's perception of the human body that has to be accounted for sometimes. This happens most often, for me, with fingers.

I find that focusing time, thoughts, and energy on the despair— what hurts, what I don't have, what could have been, etc.— empowers it. Grows it like a mind-tumor. But it's so hard to shift my thoughts away from that, sometimes. I'm getting better but it is so hard.

Finally getting to the post-Hellbound Hellraiser movies, and am seeing why I was warned away from them for so long. It's a shame how most writers after Barker cast aside the BDSM and queerness of it all. How the cenobites go from ambiguously awful or beautiful beings to literal Demons from Hell.
