Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 27/09/2025This sounds REALLY cool! Definitely gonna check this out!! 010
Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 15/09/2025Oh, definitely! The first 5 games are the 'retro-est' of the bunch I'd say, and there's lots of real gems sprinkled throughout. I'd recommend Party House, Max & Mini, Valbrace, Night Manor! That's a good selection of genres and playstyles, so hopefully something in there will appeal to you! :D 110
Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 15/09/2025Exactly how I've been playing it as of late, lol! First the wait for Donkey Kong, then Trails in the Sky, and next, Digimon Story! 010

Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 09/09/2025Thank YOU for sharing your awesome art and ideas, dude! Everything you do is amazing, and honestly I should be commenting way more often about how much I love all of it 😁 000
Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 06/09/2025Another amazing design! I just got done playing through Cyber Sleuth in anticipation of Time Stranger, and this feels like it would fit right in. Perfectly captures the unabashedly-cool aesthetic of Digimon! 110
Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 05/09/2025To me, it instantly escalated it from "surprisingly good comedy shounen" to "really compelling isekai story that actually CARES about the isekai element", you know? Still thoroughly a gag story, but I feel like the plot really came into its own around chapter 20 or so (IIRC) 010
Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 05/09/2025Was going back through the thread (thanks again for these! my wife loves isekai so I'm collecting all the ones you recommend) and was curious how far you got into this one / if you kept reading it? I was loving just the gags, but around chapter 30 it drops some AWESOME worldbuilding and twists. 120
Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 01/09/2025I also really struggle with Souls-like games, and it took aw hile, but once Bloodborne 'clicked' for me it did get quite a bit easier. (Though I still haven't beaten it myself yet.) Don't be afraid to grind for a while, try out other weapons to see if any feel more intuitive. 010
Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 21/07/2025Wow, amazingly beautiful! I've never considered a hard case before, but this, this I'm considering!! 010

Any use takes up resources and energy that could be better used doing literally anything else. Any "good potential use" for AI is annihilated by how much energy it takes to make it. Throw it in the trash, it's no good! 111348877

Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 15/07/2025Yeah, they did a fantastic job improving the combat! I really recommend seeing the game through, it certainly has its lulls here and there, but I found the finale to be fantastic. It's a strange and uneven game, but so was the first one honestly, and I loved my time with it nonetheless! 010
Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 15/07/2025I haven't had the chance to play TOO much of this one myself yet, but I really enjoyed the demo of "Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom" and felt like it had a lot of potential. Super stylish and slick and fun, full of personality! 010
Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 15/07/2025If you've played a lot of 3D platformers, you've probably played them, but Psychonauts and Psychonauts 2 are both fantastic! 230

Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 23/06/2025Yeah, I think the context of the survey made people think of “little men in saucers visiting us” rather than “exist, somewhere, likely as a microbe” 000

Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 19/06/2025A writer can trust their friends, or circle, to understand the intent of their piece. To know that some imperfections are meant to be there, what parts are meant to challenge and which are not. I wouldn't have a bunch of randos - a focus group - read any of my drafts. It sands it down to nothing. 010
Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 19/06/2025Yeah, IMO if videogames an artistic medium, then playtesting too often, and capitulating too much to the audience, dilutes the artistic intent of the videogame. And while having a friend or writing circle read a rough draft of a story is a 'playtest' in a way, that's not analogous to this. 131

Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 16/06/2025It wasn't a perfect game, but as a kid I was obsessed with Away: Shuffle Dungeon and I've never met anyone else who's even heard of it, let alone played it. I'm not sure it actually holds up at all, but I remember it being a blast! 030

Inanimate @inanimist.bsky.social · 06/06/2025That sounds rad! I know lots of procedural gens do it where there's setpieces that are connected by procedurally generated sections. That could be a good way of balancing the random generation with the vignette feel. 020
