I'm feeling pretty glum today 😞 I was meant to be heading up to Nottingham with @ruskles.bsky.social for a lovely weekend of hobby, including SPRU tomorrow. Instead, I'm stuck in hospital with no telling when I might be allowed to go home. We were really looking forward to the event. #SPRU

I've been back in hospital for over a week with no end in sight 😔 My father-in-law popped in today with a copy of #WhiteDwarf to keep me occupied. I haven't looked at one in years (since I cancelled my subscription), so I'm looking forward to checking out some cool hobby within. #WarhammerCommunity

Here's a few more painted versions of the new minis in our current Burrows & Badgers Kickstarter. Some heavily armoured beasties, ideal for Routiers and Royalists... or Freebeasts, Witch Hunters, etc. :) OK, probably not Hillfolk, Undead, or Wildlings, I admit! ;) KS linky: tinyurl.com/b38k8jub

I am less than 10 sales away from Sword Weirdos being an Adamantine seller. That's 5000 sales, the top 0.05% of all products sold on Wargame Vault. It's $5. If you have minis and you don't own Sword Weirdos, why not?

Yesterday we tested out all the Amon Hen terrain and models. It was great to get all this stuff on the table after weeks of prep. It was a draw in the end, Merry and Pippin were captured, but Sam and Frodo didn't make it to the boats. Boromir survived, but Legolas was slain.

Aragorn and Frodo at the seat of Amon Hen.

A swarm of Uruk-Hai come running to intercept the hobbits.

But while Boromir is distracted, Merry and Pippin are captured.

Bad Squiddo Games (Annie) @badsquiddogames.bsky.social · 24/08/2026

Hey folks, the office is moving again and this one-Annie band needs a hand! the code LETSGO at cart will give you 10% off for a short while. www.badsquiddogames.com full story in alt text TLDR: It's good news!

NEARLY 12 YEARS AGO, there was but a girl, with a dream. Now there is a woman with even bigger dreams and she is knackered. So Bad Squiddo was set up by, and still is, run independently by me, Annie. No savings or investors, in fact I was in a bit of a bad way when I had the wild idea to make minis.
SOMEHOW, I've grinded my way through these years building up something I am so so proud of, and can only see getting even better. However, as mentioned earlier, I am knackered. Managing every aspect of the business, and on a shoestring, has taken it out of me for sure, and I never want my enthusiasm to dampen.
The solution is getting some lovely folk to run the web shop fulfillment for me. This means all my stock going to them. It will free up more time and brain, the two things I have been lacking in. If you've seen me in person lately you'll have definitely noticed I am a bit of a zombie.
With that load taken off my plate, I will have time to hopefully be less poorly, but also time to make Bad Squiddo bigger and badder than ever. The historical research and education has become a huge part, and having more time to discover these people and then tell you about them will be magical. I'll be able to work on more projects and get even more minis of different eras out there too.
While the webshop will stay open, between AROUND 2nd-21st September (subject to change) there won't be any shipping. This is while I get everything packed down, find someone to drive it to the new place, and then give those guys time to get it all set up and running.
The Bad Squiddo HQ will still be here in Nottingham, the extra space will be used for dioramas, photo set ups, study space and eventually some sort of studio. You'll be seeing a lot more of me, for sure.
All of this is costing a chunk of funds, and there will be a tough couple months ahead as things balance out (I am sweating a bit), though everyone involved is super confident that it'll be the start of something mega amazing.
