On Tuesday it will be 4 years that Russia invaded Ukraine. Almost every night drones and missiles are sent to Ukrainian cities to destroy the infrastructure and terrorise Ukrainian citizens. Several hundred thousands soldiers are dead on both sides. For the ambition of some old men in the Kremlin.

Mein Wunsch für 2026: die EU möge Russland noch entschlossener entgegen treten und in die Schranken weisen, damit der Krieg beendet wird, und zwar so, dass die Ukraine intakt bleibt und stabilisiert wird, und Russland die eroberten Gebiete zurückgeben muss. Auf die USA ist leider kein Verlass mehr.

Eine AFD-Regierung in einem Bundesland würde Deutschland 100 Jahre zurückwerfen. Was mir nicht so richtig in den Kopf will ist, warum sich so viele Menschen, die in einer ziemlich freien Demokratie leben eine Diktatur wünschen. Die Ukraine verteidigt sich seit mehr als 3 Jahren gegen den Überfall Russlands, der schon mehr als 1 Million Menschen das Leben gekostet hat. Das ist ein eklatantes Versagen der internationalen Politik, die offenbar keine Mittel findet oder finden will, um Russland in die Schranken zu weisen.

Ich denke doch klimafreundlich hergestelltes Aluminium wäre nicht nur (bzw. gar nicht primär) für e-Autos relevant, sondern generell. Vermutlich ist der Anteil der e-Autos am insgesamt verbauten Aluminium eher gering.

Man kann die Klimaschutzziele ohne TAFF gar nicht erreichen, es sei denn man installiert gigantische CCS und CDR Kapazitäten. Und es ist klar, dass Länder, die heute vom Verkauf fossiler Energieträger leben, umsteuern müssen und dafür Zeit brauchen.

Ja, das sehe ich auch so. Die Erwartungen sind teilweise völlig überzogen, und auch in der Forschungsförderung und in der akademischen „Selbstverwaltung“ täte ein Bürokratieabbau und mehr Entscheidungsspielraum an verschiedenen Stellen im System gut.
