What is Hatred? How do you define Hate? I have written this short essay on this very question, as a tribute to #Zohakuten for May 20th. It is part of a larger fanfiction that will be written. For now, I have posted this piece first. It is a taste of what to come. www.deviantart.com/neiot/art/Wh...

Hatred is a visceral emotion, a survival instinct based on the preservation of the self. It is the sense of revulsion which seeks to distance us from a perceived social threat and, at its worst, seek its expulsion. At its core, Hate is a chemical loop, a natural defensive response. It is not inherently evil. The concept of evil is merely a social construct. Regardless of whether an emotion is right or wrong, it is human. How we, as a species, act upon an emotion is what dictates its meaning. After all, joy, typically perceived as something positive, can be just as destructive given its potential. It is evident in the way our joyful mania can sometimes take us to heights that are beyond reach and reason, only then for it to make us fall into the oblivion that destroys us.
