Happy to announce that all my preparation paid off! I’m officially a PhD candidate and passed my preliminary exams in immunobiology! Weird thing is - I actually enjoyed the process. 😂 Now time to write papers and finish my experiments! I study sustained release vax & tertiary lymphoid structures!

Many of us encounter anti-vaccine advocates. One of their most common tactics is the Gish Gallop - a flood of half-truths, anecdotes, and irrelevant claims designed to overwhelm rather than debate honestly. Sadly, can be highly effective on people not well versed in vaccine science. #immunosky

Our 14th amendment is as clear as day: “All persons *born* or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside..” To try to stop citizenships granted by the constitution via exec order would be tyranny

FYI the only reason we were successful in building the Panama Canal is thanks to doctors and researchers that established infectious disease protocols, removed standing water, and prevented mosquito borne illness. Science and evidence based decisions work.

Obviously, there’s a lot to worry about with RFK Jr, but top of my list is his AIDS denialism I believe antiretroviral therapy is one of the greatest public health success stories in modern history, & I fear RFK Jr could do immense damage to US & global HIV prevention & treatment programs

I had a great time presenting my research at the Autumn Immunology Conference in Chicago last weekend! I got a lot of great feedback and interest! Polyanhydrides developed at the Nanovaccine Institute at Iowa State University are versatile - from implants for sustained release to nanoparticles!

I’m going to stay mostly positive on Bluesky and use it as a tool to connect with other scientists. I think most people on here lean politically in favor of the political parties that support basic scientific facts. I’m going to leave political debate to other platforms. This is for positivity.
