As an aside, the presumption that three additional days is enough to cover transit time for USPS has got to be revisited. It semi-regularly seems to take a week or more... meaning these people could have mere days to find and retain a lawyer and get a response in.

Old immigration record discrepancies are being weaponized daily in cases nationwide, not just high-profile ones. Anyone doubting this is a blatantly ideological project should ask what would happen if the records of Ivana Trump, Melania, Elon, etc. faced the same scrutiny.

Edit
Not to be confused with Osama bin Laden.
In this Spanish name, the first or paternal surname is Jiménez and the second or maternal family name is López.
Osama Vinladen Jiménez López (Spanish: [oˈsama βinˈlaðeŋ xiˈmenes ˈlopes]; born 7 October 2002) is a Peruvian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Unión Comercio in the Peruvian Primera División.

edit
Vinladen is named after Osama bin Laden, the founder of Al-Qaeda – in Spanish, the letters ⟨v⟩ and ⟨b⟩ represent the same phoneme and they both sound [b] or [β̞], depending on the surrounding phonemes (see Spanish phonology) – and has a brother named "Sadam Huseín" after the dictator of Iraq. His father wanted to name a potential third son "George Bush" but the baby turned out to be a girl.[3] When Vinladen had a son of his own, his father again suggested "George Bush", but he chose a conventional name instead.[3]

The BIA be-clowns itself again today in issuing its typo-riddled decision in Matter of BSAN. It announces sweeping asylum rules unnecessary to the outcome and untethered from the statute. The authors should be absolutely ashamed 🧵 www.justice.gov/eoir/media/1...

Beyond the panel, to be published every board member should have read this to be able to vote on it (or request revisions). All those highly trained appellate eyes on it and no one flagged the mistakes? Only you on your first read? Hmmm.

Picking a bunch of countries having nothing to do with the case at hand, zero briefing, zero record evidence, and making a categorical rule out of it? Amazing work, truly.

There seems to be zero accountability for ICE officers' illegal arrests, uses of force, etc. Nothing. If a small percentage get lawyers and win a habeas case, they're still winning the numbers game. Just keep doing it and ramp it up.

I think in reality what it actually means is you order food and then you get it and it's not hot and so you complain but they do nothing for you. And also referees making terrible calls against my preferred teams in sports.

The term “remigration” is associated with the extreme right and only came into widespread usage in 2023-4. Even Germany’s AfD avoided using the term in 2024 for fear of scaring away voters. Today the US government is celebrating the “victories” it’s racked up in the “ethnic cleansing” column.

The only way to read the text of the statute, which is clear and unambiguous, is in a way contrary to how it’s been read by immigration advocates and hawks alike, the DOJ, and the overwhelming majority of judges for three decades. -Alito (either for the majority or the dissent)

It sure seems like there should be some type of judicial process to determine whether people broke the law before you declare that they broke the law and should be and are being punished for it. We could dedicate an entire executive office for that sort of immigration review.

If “irreparable harm” means anything, it means being sent to a country you’ve never seen, where you may well be imprisoned, tortured, or killed, under a policy that (the cert grant implicitly acknowledges!) may well be illegal

Also, with all the time and its universe of records at its disposal, DHS makes these errors. And we’re supposed to trust ICE, or even local law enforcement in some places, to make accurate determinations on citizenship and immigration status on the spot during random street encounters?

Aaron Hall @immlawachall.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
Best guess is a bunch of those 185 automaticically derived citizenship and DHS records just didn’t reflect it (and the people running data and putting out strident press releases have no idea this is even a thing).

We do not choose to follow or enforce any use of force policy and will continue to chase, ram, and shoot first and ask questions never.
CLAIM: That ICE needs to get out of Austin.

ICE: This was a targeted vehicle stop and also we shot him in the back as part of our enforcement of civil immigration laws in part because of AOC.
CLAIM: This illegal alien was indiscriminately targeted by ICE.

FACT: This is false. This illegal alien was the subject of a targeted vehicle stop. What makes someone a target for immigration enforcement is whether or not they are illegally in the U.S.

Resisting officers and evading arrest is dangerous for our officers, illegal aliens, and the public. We remind the public that resisting officers and evading arrest is a felony and a federal crime. Sanctuary politicians need to stop encouraging this dangerous behavior that puts our officers and the public at risk.

This dangerous attempt to evade arrest comes after sanctuary politicians held webinars and provided resources and tips for how to openly defy ICE:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hosted a webinar providing tips for illegal aliens to evade arrests at homes, workplaces, or in public.
Dan Goldman posted a video online calling on illegal aliens to make a plan for ICE encounters.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass issued multilingual flyers and online resources advising illegal aliens on how to evade arrest.
California Governor Gavin Newsom released guides and sanctuary laws advising illegal aliens how to recognize ICE, block entry, and defy arrest.

ICE asserts that those in civil immigration custody, which is supposed to be non-punitive, "receive a higher standard of living" than "most prisons." Ok?
CLAIM: The illegal alien has been forced to sleep on the floor.

FACT: This is false. This alien was released from the hospital and arrived at the detention facility just a few hours later, where he slept on a bed. Aliens in ICE custody receive a higher standard of living than most prisons that hold U.S. citizens.

They can't help themselves. They lie by saying he "entered illegally." He entered with DHS permission under the CBP One program. Literally waited for an appointment to become available and entered with his appointment exactly as the U.S. government told him he should.
CLAIM: This illegal alien is here legally.

FACT: This is false. This person is in the U.S. illegally. He entered illegally under the Biden Administration. The illegal alien had no valid work permit, had no protective status, and had a final order of removal from a Department of Justice (DOJ) Immigration Judge.

ICE puts out a "Correct the Record" press release on the shooting in Austin, leads by debunking "claim" no one has made. www.dhs.gov/news/2026/09...
CLAIM: ICE refused to remove the bullet from the illegal alien’s body.

FACT: This is false. ICE does not and would not advise, nor be the authority on, a medical procedure for an illegal alien at a hospital.

Even if they nominally give you a bond hearing, where having driven without a license a decade ago makes you so dangerous you must stay jailed, or years in the same home with kids in local schools still makes you a flight risk so great no bond amount can mitigate, habeas is often the only remedy.
