Gladiolus flowers usually begin blooming in mid-August and can continue until mid-October.
Different colors of gladioli have their own meanings: red symbolizes love and passion, pink - grace and femininity, and white - purity and innocence

Rudbeckia hirta, commonly called black-eyed Susan, is a North American flowering plant in the family Asteracee. It grows to 1 metre tall with daisy-like yellow flower heads. There are numerous cultivars. It is toxic when ingested by cats, but was used medicinally by Native Americans.
