Maybe I just got a bad box of the stuff, idk. But the emulsion seems extra submissive and scratchable, and the base is *definitely* so thin that it causes focus issues by flexing in the holder and that it doesn't lie flat in the dev tank and that the film aggressively curls when trying to dry it.

Like, I acknowledge that a lot of this could be development error on my part. Maybe my sous vide bath is holding chemistry at the wrong temperature. Maybe my agitation technique sucks. But for these issues to persist over different chemistry and between different tanks, on sheets shot years apart?

this skeet brought to you by trying to get something usable out of these scans to submit to EASEL. Three of the twelve are lost to me definitely fucking something up between exposure and development, but *all* of them have issues with color, focus, and blotchy streaks over the highlights.

wow do I dislike cinestill 400D sheets and regret trying to use it for this project. Glad I'm down to one sheet left. Maybe if I feel like getting myself an expensive, tedious, and frustrating treat I'll try Ektar 100 in 4x5 or something next time I need to remember why I don't shoot C41 sheet film.
