It's not time to put on these carpet bits yet but.... 1. happy with the pretty close colour match and 2. I'm not sure I should put one on this big step at the top of the stairs cause it be looking pretty silly 😅😅

Decided to listen to Folklands while on my walk... was not prepared for spooky sound effects while walking through a deserted forest on my own 😅😅

Chad Cullen isn't real, he can't hurt you 😬

just needs some good sanding before I repaint the rest of the lil railing in graphite grey like the stairs... but I think I'll finish the stairs first and then finish the railing next week so the stair-paint has time to fully harden

I can't explain why but for some reason his sister sleeping on my pillow was cuter 🤣

ilonka 🌱💜 @ilonkadraws.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

1 more long-work-in coat of stripper tomorrow should do it I think. I'm not convinced this will look great, but I guess we'll see what happens 😅😅

My brain decided I needed to strip the spindles (I think that's the right word). Not ideal after I've already started painting the stairs... but I guess finishing painting can wait an extra day. Anything but do actual work... 🫠😖

Another successful tk maxx book haul 🤣 I had to resist the temptation to buy better versions of mythology books I already own, but I'm really trying to watch my spending 😅😅

ilonka 🌱💜 @ilonkadraws.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

It's been so long since I actually started on these stairs (this picture is from the end of january) that it's easy to overlook how far it's come 😅

ilonka 🌱💜 @ilonkadraws.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Slowly making my way through the veilguard art book and I really love these early, simple shape, concepts for companions. Not sure what it is but the art style just tickles my brain

ilonka 🌱💜 @ilonkadraws.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

It's too easy to take good pictures in the forest 🤣

140

ilonka 🌱💜 @ilonkadraws.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

This will do 🫡 I'll take tonight off (or do a small thing) and finish the rest of the stairs over Monday & Tuesday, which should mean I get to put on the carpety bits before rhe whole family comes to visit 😊

More spooky season reads! I did bring this along on bike ride but I didn't get around to reading 😅

ilonka 🌱💜 @ilonkadraws.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

more baking time! cookies with chai spices, black tea & mandarine zest (orange zest would be better, but I have no oranges lol)

Actual daylight stairs update with the first coat of paint 🤣

130

ilonka 🌱💜 @ilonkadraws.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Is that... half the staircase done? 😮 or at least, having 1 coat lol. It's def gonna need a 2nd coat and probs even a 3rd coat, but when I did the other staircase I'd only get 3 or 4 steps done in the same amount of time 🫣🫣 (have I gotten fast? am I just working more sloppily? who knows 😂)

020

ilonka 🌱💜 @ilonkadraws.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

repost from yesterday cause I'm gonna try to do super quick 15-30 minute doodles daily. This is just me trying to draw my body being tired, but with big kinda cross-eyed eyes cause I'm also restless af😅

ilonka 🌱💜 @ilonkadraws.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

i didn't say it was gonna be good but 🤣

140

ilonka 🌱💜 @ilonkadraws.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

I should post something halloweeny for October... I've had too much anxiety to do any art beyond the absolute minimum for work... have some voids 😅

140

ilonka 🌱💜 @ilonkadraws.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

I'd really appreciate if all this anxiety would go away cause my body is real fucking tired 😩😔

ilonka 🌱💜 @ilonkadraws.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

New litterbox is in, let's hope this all goes well 🤞 It is quite a small one, but fearne is a pretty tiny cat and I'm kinda hoping the size might make her brother more likely to keep using the larger one 🤞🤞

010

ilonka 🌱💜 @ilonkadraws.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Nobody thought I was actually done painting yet right? 🤣 I'm likely also finally continuing on the stairs next week unless I hear from the reno company about some issues..

Annndd we're ready! New stainless steel litterbox will be delivered tomorrow but I think this will work! It will also give fearne some walls to maybe feel more safe? + bonus fearne looking at me thinking "tf are you doing?"

But also random leaf floating in mid air? I know it's probs just on some spiderweb but 2 minutes later my phone also showed some glory blue thing that I couldn't see and isn't in photos 😅 I feel like I have to keep an eye out for fairy doors from now on 🤣

Zennyatta is crawling into the blankets every night... they're so tangled idk how he even does it. I may need to start putting out an extra blanket for him cause he gets annoyed when i used it 🤣
