I am so beyond proud of my country. It was looking extremely bleak; the Poilievre-led CPC had all the momentum in the world after the populous soured on Trudeau, and it was almost guaranteed that Canada would follow in the US' footsteps. I'm glad Canadians have been paying attention.

It's not really excusifying. The reality is that the majority of America didn't vote. I'd wager that the majority of that majority wasn't paying any attention at all. Fox News has more listeners overall than other media in the US, so people are going to be more Trump skewed.
