I spoke with a MAGA person today... Normally on X I'm a lot more combative, but I've always held the belief that you should talk to people who you think are willing to listen. We spoke about the border, immigration, Canada and fentanyl. In the end, I was actually able to get a number of concessions.

The US does not have "open borders". Canada and Mexico also do not have "open borders". Canada cannot "let" people into the United States, nor can Mexico, as neither of these countries can dictate what the US does with its border. Entry into the US is under the purview of USCBP, no ifs ands or buts.
