This guy has no inside access. I was exiled bc I wanted to Pause AI and it exposed that the so-called AI Safety community didn’t want that to happen. The protests embarrassed them. They wanted to gatekeep to idea of AI Safety. When I wouldn‘t fall in line to various powerful people it was cemented.

My experience in the EA/Rationality world since I broke to start @pauseaius.bsky.social has been one constant chastisement that I’m being a bad woman by saying “mean” things they don’t want to hear. That would require them to draw some lines.

But then it turns out PauseAI Global got funded to the tune of $1.5M. After PauseAI Global publicly “dis-endorsed” me. Something their CEO Maxime Fournes had told me some funders asked him to do in order to get money. 🤨

i substantively agree with basically this narrative; i pay attention to the space and had (previously!) said i did not like holly's advocacy but it seemed pretty clear to me that SFF decisionmaking hinged on her falling out with core rationalists and not her conduct as an activist

SFF had made a decision re:advocacy, and ik head honcho Critch didn’t want to fund it at all. These ppl don’t respect it as an intervention. Then there was this oddly formal denunciation of me followed by Global getting money. I think the dis-endorsement of me is what they were being paid for.

Please call your Senators and tell them not to pass the AI preemption provision smuggled into the budget reconciliation bill! This provision would prevent state legislatures from regulating dangerous AI with no indication that Congress will provide that regulation instead.
